Friday Favorites {1.20.23}

Happy Friday! What a week! Today I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea for Friday Favorites.
My first favorite and my very favorite favorite from the week is a book.
I. Loved. This. Book. I was skeptical at first, but when Mix and Match Mama named it her favorite book she read all year, I was intrigued. I read it on my phone via Apple Books. I could not put it down. I read it in just a couple of days. I was irritated when I had to stop reading and tend to the laundry. And when I had to stop for lunch. I stayed up super late to keep reading it. It was that good. One of the main characters is an octopus, which is one of the reasons I was hesitant to read it. BUT, he ended up being my favorite character! Really, all of the characters are wonderful. This was such a good book. If you haven't read it, you should. If you are hesitant like I was, start by reading a free sample of it. That's what I did, and I bought it as soon as I finished the sample. I had to know the rest of the story! What should I read next?!

I love a blanket. I'm kind of a blanket hoarder. I just love to be cozy, really. My mother in law gave me this heated blanket for Christmas, and it has been used quite a bit since then! I used it every day we were sick, too. It's super soft and has four heat settings. It's a throw size, so it's perfect for laying on the couch!
I kind of forgot I had these cute sneakers, but I wore them yesterday and remembered how much I love them! They are super light weight and very comfortable! They go great with jeans, dresses, or leggings. (I'm wearing them here with black jeans.) I used to wear Nike tennis shoes all the time, and I would size up a half size in those, but I got my normal size 9 in these are they fit perfectly!
I got them last year, so they aren't available anymore, but I love this neutral pair!
Thursday night dinner...super fancy! A sandwich, chips, and wine while watching Modern Family. I was also already in my pjs. Definitely a favorite kind of evening!

Have a great weekend!

Let's Look: January 2026

 Happy Wednesday!! Let's Look is one of my very favorite blog link ups and after not doing it last year, I am ready for it in 2026! I am linking up with Shay and Erika for this monthly series! Today, we are LOOKING at..... THINGS WE OUTSOURCE WITHOUT REGRET. Ok, there are so many things you can outsource that I just would rather do myself. I love to grocery shop. I think I would be weirded out by someone else doing my laundry. A house keeper is just not something we currently need or really want. BUT, there are occasions when outsourcing is just what needs to be done. Grocery Delivery/Pickup We don't do this often, but when we do it's pretty nice. That being said, I am usually ready to get back in the grocery store myself! Food Delivery This is another one we do not do often, but a Wednesday free delivery from Wingstop has sucked me in a few times 😂. And of course, pizza delivery is always nice! Plus, we can get food delivered to the school I work out, so that's nice e...

Friday Favorites {6.6.25}

 Happy Friday, friends!! How was your week? One of my summer classes started this week, so I have been getting back into a bit of a routine which is nice! As always, I am linking up with Erika and Andrea to share some faves from the week.  How cute is our new wreath sash?? My mom got it for us, and I am obsessed! Lots of food faves this week.... Another salsa I am now obsessed with! I found this at Aldi, and y'all it is SO good! I used it in a recipe, but I am definitely going to get another jar to eat for a snack or with lunch or dinner! Now for a Tik Tok "recipe". I used quotations, because it's really just a chop/open a can and throw together situation. Corn, black beans, pinto beans, onion, tomato, cilantro. I ate it with tortilla chips for lunch this week. It was so good! Next time, I would add more tomato and use less onion (maybe even no onion at all), and I should have chopped up the cilantro a little better! I also squeezed in some lime juice and added salt a...

Friday Favorites {12.20.24}

 Happy Friday, friends!! And Merry Christmas Eve Eve Eve Eve Eve- that's a thing, right??😂 I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea today to share some faves from the week, and then I will be off for the holidays! My plan is to see y'all back here on January 13! For some food faves.... I grabbed the raspberry kringle at Aldi the other day after seeing so many positive reviews on it. It is really good!! I had some with a cup of coffee a couple times this week! Last night, Caleb made lasagna soup- YUM. Definitely a favorite of mine lately! A great way to end the night.... Caleb made me a cosmopolitan the other night. Yum! I am really going to miss this sight.... This is my favorite time of year for sure! Twinkly lights and candle light = the BEST. On my drive home from work yesterday.... This was a fun little surprise. I don't remember this from last year! I hope you all have a great weekend and a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday! However, whatever, whenever, whereve...
