February 2023 Book Review

It's BOOK REVIEW DAY!!  Can you believe February is already over?! Summer will surely be here before we know it! I read three great books this month!! Let's get into them.  First up, I read Maame by Jessica George- Oh, this book. It was amazing.  Maame  is Jessica George's debut novel. I could hardly believe that. She is such a fantastic writer. This is Jenna Bush Hager's pick of the month for Read with Jenna. Maame  is a late in life coming of age story filled with friendship, love, loss, and LIFE. I laughed. I cried. I felt all the feelings basically. It's real, and it's raw. I finished in about two days, because I could not put it down. I was totally transported and felt like I was there with Maddie, the main character. I loved it so much. Every book I read after this one has a lot to live up to. I can't imagine this not being the best book I read all year. Please, do yourself a favor and read this book!  BONUS!! Jenna Bush Hager's Thousand Voices and

Friday Favorites {2.24.23}

  YAY for Friday! As always, I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea to share my faves from the week! Yesterday, I shared my Spring Home Decor! I'm loving the little refresh, and I'm getting so excited for the next few months! I just got this hand soap, and both scents smell so good! The packaging is also simple and cute. It looks cute in my kitchen next to my pretty pink flowers! And... ...at the sink in our guest bathroom! The scent in the kitchen is Rosemary Mint, and in the bathroom is Wild Lavender. Switching gears to some food faves... These are my new favorite tortilla chips for all of our Mexican food nights! They are super thin, light, and crispy! They are delish! I can't say that I've ever tried these particular Girl Scout cookies before, but they are really good! I have had way too many this week! If you're following along with The Bible Recap, yesterday we started Numbers! This is book #5 for us, since we skipped over to Job at the beginning. This is m

Spring Home Decor

 Happy Thursday! Today is my last day of work for the week and for that I am so grateful!! We're headed out to Dallas tomorrow afternoon!  Tuesday morning I took down all of the Valentine's decor, and as sad as I was about that, I love my Spring decor so much! Tuesday evening, I put out all of the new springy things! I do still have a few things that I left at my mom's house, but I'll get it all this weekend.  Most everything is from Homegoods or Marshalls. A lot of it is from this year, so you may be able to still find some things in your stores! My kitchen table is pretty much the same, I just took the wine glasses off the table.  My morning coffee tastes so much better when it's in a cute mug! Have a happy day! What's Up Wednesday {February 2023}

Happy Wednesday! And happy only two more work days for me!🎉 I'm linking up with Sheaffer and Shay to let you in on what's been up with us lately!    1: WHAT WE'RE EATING THIS WEEK:   Caleb made our meal plan for the week. Here's what he's planning... Monday: I got in around 6, so we just had whatever for dinner. Caleb had a sandwich, and I had popcorn. #balance Tuesday: Chicken fajitas Wednesday: Steak with baked potatoes Thursday: Grilled shrimp with sautéed mushrooms and onions with green beans 2: WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT:  Way back in 2019, my sister got a trip to New York for her 16th birthday. Our plan was to go that next either summer or Christmas. Well, we all know what that means. Trip put on major hold thanks to a pandemic. Now that she's 18, we've finally found a time to go, so I'm of course reminiscing about the Big Apple! These pics are all from my first trip in 2017. Don't let the little blue bag fool ya, it was just a free bookle

Target on Tuesday

I've got some fun Target finds for your Tuesday! I love Target. A lot. So whenever I'm in Madison and have a chance, I'm going to Target! My view while shopping. He really was all over the place, and this only lasted about two minutes. 😂 Clothes were the first thing I went for, and I stayed there the longest. I always love to grab these basic tees , and this one was only $6! I sized up to a medium for a more relaxed fit, but my normal small would have been just fine.  I got it in red, too. I'm usually not a light denim color kind of girl, but I grabbed these shorts on a whim. It wasn't until I got home that I realized how soft and stretchy they are. Bonus! I'm wearing them in my normal size 4.  Major Farm Rio vibes from this Knox Rose brand! I'm wearing a small in this top, and it's just a tad big. And the shoes... 😍 Here's a closer look! How cute?! I love that heel! These will be on repeat all Spring and Summer.  Last but not least, I found these
