My Tips For Getting Rid of Cooking Smells

One thing I cannot stand is the lingering smell of food from the night before- yuck! I *think* I may have cracked the code on getting rid of the smells!! Here are my tips..... 1. Light a candle before you start cooking. Something light, airy, fresh, whatever you love! I feel like this kind of helps mask those smells initially. 2. Wipe down the counters and stove pretty soon after you are done. I love this Method spray and love even more that it's anti-bac! I feel like that helps a bit more too. 3. Clean your sink and garbage disposal. Get the dishes out of the sink and clean with soap! I like Dawn Powerwash or Mrs. Meyers. Also cleaning the disposal will make things a little fresher. I sometimes throw a lemon peel in- I know some people say not to but I always have! 4. Fabric spray!! Spraying this on my furniture, pillows, blankets, rug after the food is cleaned up and put away I think really helps!! I love the fresh linen scent too!  5. Coffee grounds If the smells are still...

Happy Wednesday!! I have so many random things to share with you all today! 1. First up, no post yesterday....I think I am going to move into a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule for now....I feel like I've done good this semester balancing school, life, blog, etc., but we're at the tail end, and things are getting crazy. So, for now I will catch y'all MWF! 2. Super super random, BUT if you leave a comment on my blog (especially with a question!), I try to get back to you on the same day, so check back later in the day or maybe the next day. Unless one falls through the cracks, I pretty much always respond! Just wanted y'all to know that 😘  3. Yesterday, I started my morning off being super productive... Fridge clean out and prepped some things for the week! Tuna salad, a big green salad for us to have with lunch and dinner, and cut up strawberries and celery. A clean out was very much needed! So much better now! 4. New mascara alert! I picked up about three different...

Making Life Beautiful

Happy Tuesday! The last several years, I have been all about "romanticizing" my life and making everything special. Here are a few way I make life beautiful in little ways every day! Use pretty bowls, plates, serving pieces, etc. We got a few bowls on our honeymoon in Mexico, and I rarely ever use them. Yesterday I decided to eat my bagged salad out of it. Such a simple thing, but I loved eating from this bowl and remembering when we bought it! Plus, it's pretty!! Here's a little peek into my serving piece cabinet! I got majority of these as wedding gifts! I could choose to serve out of original packaging, but doing serving out of pretty pieces just elevates things a little. It's no secret that I love to pull out the fine china for something as simple as a piece of Papa Johns pizza! I mean, why not?? Life is too short to not use those plates that cost quite a pretty penny. In addition to the pretty serving pieces.... Drinking glasses.... I love love love Estelle ...

Thursday Tips

We have almost made it to the weekend, and for that I am so grateful! Today, let's talk about SLEEP!  I love to sleep, how about you?! Sleeping is one of my very favorite parts of life 😂, BUT I often have a lot of trouble getting to sleep. So, today I'm sharing my top tips for getting to sleep quicker, and sleeping better!  1. Have a set nighttime routine to follow.  This is my number one tip! If I don't go through my routine, step by step, I am going to be a crazy mess, and I will not be able to go to sleep. My routine is basically HOT shower, brush my teeth, skincare, get in bed.  2. Take a hot shower or bath.  First of all, I just feel better when I'm freshly showered. I can't stand dirty feet in the bed!! Also, I feel like being warm will get my body more ready for bed, whereas a cold shower would "wake me up" a bit. Once I get in bed though..... 3. Watch TV.  I know this sounds like something you should not do before bed. But, if I don't wa...

Thursday Tips

Happy Thursday!! Today, I thought I'd share a few tips with you. Today's topic: Reading more books.  On a random January day, I decided I was going to read more.  I used to be such a great reader, and then I stopped. I let all my good reading habits go right out the window. I would read maybe 1 or 2 books A YEAR. I didn't like it, so I changed my habits.  Here a few things I've done to make reading easier and more fun!  1. Read on your iPhone, iPad, Kindle, etc.  I started this journey by reading books on my phone via iBooks. I like this way for a few reasons. I can't flip pages to read ahead- a terrible habit of mine! It tells you what percent of the way you are through the book. You can set a goal for each day- I found myself upping the goal quite often and was excited to reach my goal. It also keeps a daily streak for you.  For my birthday, I got a Kindle. Yesterday I started my first book on it. So far, I love it. It is taking some getting used to. Righ...
