Thursday Tips

We have almost made it to the weekend, and for that I am so grateful! Today, let's talk about SLEEP!

I love to sleep, how about you?! Sleeping is one of my very favorite parts of life 😂, BUT I often have a lot of trouble getting to sleep. So, today I'm sharing my top tips for getting to sleep quicker, and sleeping better!

1. Have a set nighttime routine to follow.

This is my number one tip! If I don't go through my routine, step by step, I am going to be a crazy mess, and I will not be able to go to sleep. My routine is basically HOT shower, brush my teeth, skincare, get in bed.

2. Take a hot shower or bath.

First of all, I just feel better when I'm freshly showered. I can't stand dirty feet in the bed!! Also, I feel like being warm will get my body more ready for bed, whereas a cold shower would "wake me up" a bit. Once I get in bed though.....

3. Watch TV.

I know this sounds like something you should not do before bed. But, if I don't watch tv before bed, I'm more likely to just scroll on my phone or something, and when I do that I tend to stay up later. Which leads me to....

4. Put the phone away.

I try really hard to put my phone away before bed. Again, if I start scrolling, I'll be up for hours.

5. Take something to help you sleep.

I try not to rely on this every night, but if I really cannot fall asleep or had a bad sleep the night before, I take something. Most of the time, I take a Sleep Now from Herbalife. If my allergies are bothering me, I'll take a Benadryl and get a two for one 😂. I also used to drink the Liquid IV sleep drink mix. It tasted good and was effective, but I'd really rather take something and be done with it at once.

6. Turn on a sound machine. I recently got this app...

My sister has this and every time we sleep in the same room or close enough that I can hear hers, I swear I sleep so much better. So, I finally decided to download the same app. We both use the Pink Noise.

Thanks for reading! Have a great day!!

Let's Look: September 2024

Hey, friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today is the September edition of Let's Look. But before I get into that, I want to talk a bit about today, September 11. Today is the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. I was only one year old when this happened, so I obviously do not remember where I was or what I was doing or anything from this day. All I know is because of the people who continue to honor to victims and the heroes of this day. I have had the honor of visiting the memorial and museum in NYC twice now, and both times I have been were such an incredible experience. Visiting there is heavy. It is sad. It's informative. It's also beautiful to see how our country came together in such an awful time. I love this picture that I took on my last visit. The leaves in the picture are from a tree that survived everything from that day 23 years ago. It was transported to a greenhouse for a while, but it was eventually moved back, and I loved that I could...
