Three Random Things

Happy Wednesday!! I figured today was a good day to share three random things! 1. First up, DUH. I am soooo excited!! Just a few funnies that I have seen about this album announcement. And yep, I'll be watching New Heights today! 2. So, I mentioned a couple weeks ago that I started a new job. Well, I am working in a school- both in a Kindergarten classroom and in middle school. There is a student in that mix that speaks zero English. Sooooo, I have been brushing up on my Spanish. It honestly makes me sad that I have basically lost it all. I had two years of Spanish in high school, and I can barely remember common words and phrases. 3. I am almost in full fall mode over here....fall nail color #2 has officially been painted. Yet another fave, Malaga Wine. Here's a blog post of some of my favorite fall nail colors  if you're as ready as I am!! Have a great Wednesday!!

Olive and June Review

Happy Thursday, friends! I have mentioned a couple of times that I recently tried Olive and June nail polish. So, today I am giving you a full review! I bought one of their Long Lasting shades in Strawberry Scone and their Super Glossy Top Coat. I thought the color was similar to one of my favorite Essie shades, Ballet Slippers. It took me four coats to get a transparent color. It was a sheer shade, so I expected it to take several coats. I'm not sure if this caused it to chip more quickly or if it was my lack of prep before applying the shade. I also did not use a base coat which felt really weird! Their shades have basically a "built in" base coat, so you can use a separate base coat, but it isn't necessary. Last Wednesday, I did all of the necessary prep to my nails....I pushed back my cuticles, clipped any that needed it, filed my nails, and used a cuticle cream. On Thursday, I painted them. I used an OPI shade (CIA=Color Is Awesome) and the Olive and June top co...

My "Low Maintenance" Manicure

Happy Thursday!! How's your week going? I'm getting ready for a weekend trip to Florida, and I wanted to share one thing I'm doing to prepare! I didn't want to go get a manicure at the nail salon, but I don't want to have to worry about my nails all weekend either. So, here's what I'm calling my "low maintenance" at home manicure. When my nails are long, I feel like they chip easier. So, I cute them down pretty short. I did two coats of OPI Nail Envy as a base coat. Then, I did three coats of Essie Ballet Slippers. I finished with a coat of Seche gel top coat. Since Ballet Slippers is such a light color, it won't show too bad if my nails start growing out or if any chip. With how many coats of polish I have though, it should not chip (or in my experience it usually doesn't). Another bonus is that this color looks great with anything I will wear all weekend! Have a great day!

Favorite Fall Nail Colors

Happy Thursday!! It's basically already fall, right?? We have had incredible weather here lately, and I have loved every second of it!  I sure love a bright white or neon pink polish, but a fall color is my absolute favorite!! Here are some of my favorite shades for this time of year! All of these polishes are by OPI. Some pics are my own and some are from Pinterest. (If you're not quite ready to let go of the bright colors, here are my faves for summer! ) This is what I currently have on. This is My Private Jet. It's so fun!  You Don't Know Jacques Less Is Norse Malaga Wine (I have this on my toes right now, and I feel like it's less purple in person!) Black Onyx Suzi and the Arctic Fox Black Cherry Chutney That's What Friends are Thor

9 Nail Colors for Summer

Happy Thursday, friends! Today I'm sharing my 9 favorite nail polish colors for summer!  I do my own nails at home- I'm currently recovering from a major nail injury! Back in the fall I started doing gel every week, and I would pick the polish off every single time. Little did I know, I was absolutely ruining my nails! Around early December, I put gel on my nails and the next day, my nails were throbbing. I took the gel off, and my nails were bruised. It's been a super long recovery process, but I'm hopeful that they will return to normal really soon! ANYWAY! I've been doing regular polish for the past 7ish months. Here are my favorite summer colors!  From left to right: Coca Cola Red, Two Timing the Zones, Strawberry Margarita, Funny Bunny, Lisbon Wants Moor, and Rich Girls and PoBoys.  Y'all know I've been really loving DND polishes! On the left is Ruth and the far right is Tropicana Daze, with Essie Mod Square in the middle. DND comes with a lacquer and ...
