Happy New Year! And Christmas Recap!

Happy 2023, friends!! How was your Christmas? How is the new year treating you so far? I enjoyed my little break, but I’m ready to jump back into blog world!

We are still enjoying this Christmas season! I won’t take my decorations down until Epiphany, the proper way. šŸ˜‰

I work in a jewelry store, so I worked on Christmas Eve. I did end up getting off earlier than expected, so we got to do all of our fun Christmas Eve traditions. My very favorite night of the year is our Christmas Eve service at church. When the lights go out and the only light comes from those candle flames, I get chills. Every. Single. Time. After church, we had a yummy appetizer dinner with both mine and Caleb's parents. We had dips, pigs in a blanket, sausage balls, and charcuterie. And lots and lots of desserts! I basically haven't stopped eating since then...

Christmas morning we went to church for a sweet little service. We did gifts with Caleb’s parents and then had lunch at one of our favorite places. That night, we did our gifts with my family and then we rode around and looked at lights. The next day, we did Christmas with my dad and grandmother before heading back to Starkville. We had a wonderful holiday with our families, and I pray you did too!

Candlelight service.

Hibachi lunch!

Our favorite Christmas lights! They go alllll out. There's another house in town that has a larger yard with even more lights and decorations, but I didn't get a picture.

I started The Bible Recap yesterday! So far, I LOVE it! Having the podcast to explain what I just read makes it so much easier to comprehend. If you follow me on Instagram, I have a highlight called The Bible Recap where I linked everything I'm using to guide me through this study. (My handle is @everydaymaddieblog)

If 2022 wasn't your year, I pray 2023 is amazing for you! I don't really ever make any resolutions, but I usually pick a few words for the year and this year I have chosen intentional, peace, and confidence. Happy New Year, friends!

Let's Look: September 2024

Hey, friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today is the September edition of Let's Look. But before I get into that, I want to talk a bit about today, September 11. Today is the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. I was only one year old when this happened, so I obviously do not remember where I was or what I was doing or anything from this day. All I know is because of the people who continue to honor to victims and the heroes of this day. I have had the honor of visiting the memorial and museum in NYC twice now, and both times I have been were such an incredible experience. Visiting there is heavy. It is sad. It's informative. It's also beautiful to see how our country came together in such an awful time. I love this picture that I took on my last visit. The leaves in the picture are from a tree that survived everything from that day 23 years ago. It was transported to a greenhouse for a while, but it was eventually moved back, and I loved that I could...
