Happy New Year! And Christmas Recap!

Happy 2023, friends!! How was your Christmas? How is the new year treating you so far? I enjoyed my little break, but I’m ready to jump back into blog world!

We are still enjoying this Christmas season! I won’t take my decorations down until Epiphany, the proper way. šŸ˜‰

I work in a jewelry store, so I worked on Christmas Eve. I did end up getting off earlier than expected, so we got to do all of our fun Christmas Eve traditions. My very favorite night of the year is our Christmas Eve service at church. When the lights go out and the only light comes from those candle flames, I get chills. Every. Single. Time. After church, we had a yummy appetizer dinner with both mine and Caleb's parents. We had dips, pigs in a blanket, sausage balls, and charcuterie. And lots and lots of desserts! I basically haven't stopped eating since then...

Christmas morning we went to church for a sweet little service. We did gifts with Caleb’s parents and then had lunch at one of our favorite places. That night, we did our gifts with my family and then we rode around and looked at lights. The next day, we did Christmas with my dad and grandmother before heading back to Starkville. We had a wonderful holiday with our families, and I pray you did too!

Candlelight service.

Hibachi lunch!

Our favorite Christmas lights! They go alllll out. There's another house in town that has a larger yard with even more lights and decorations, but I didn't get a picture.

I started The Bible Recap yesterday! So far, I LOVE it! Having the podcast to explain what I just read makes it so much easier to comprehend. If you follow me on Instagram, I have a highlight called The Bible Recap where I linked everything I'm using to guide me through this study. (My handle is @everydaymaddieblog)

If 2022 wasn't your year, I pray 2023 is amazing for you! I don't really ever make any resolutions, but I usually pick a few words for the year and this year I have chosen intentional, peace, and confidence. Happy New Year, friends!

Let's Look: January 2026

 Happy Wednesday!! Let's Look is one of my very favorite blog link ups and after not doing it last year, I am ready for it in 2026! I am linking up with Shay and Erika for this monthly series! Today, we are LOOKING at..... THINGS WE OUTSOURCE WITHOUT REGRET. Ok, there are so many things you can outsource that I just would rather do myself. I love to grocery shop. I think I would be weirded out by someone else doing my laundry. A house keeper is just not something we currently need or really want. BUT, there are occasions when outsourcing is just what needs to be done. Grocery Delivery/Pickup We don't do this often, but when we do it's pretty nice. That being said, I am usually ready to get back in the grocery store myself! Food Delivery This is another one we do not do often, but a Wednesday free delivery from Wingstop has sucked me in a few times šŸ˜‚. And of course, pizza delivery is always nice! Plus, we can get food delivered to the school I work out, so that's nice e...

Friday Favorites {4.2.26}

 Happy THURSDAY. My days are getting so mixed up with a Friday holiday haha! Posting Friday Faves a day early since tomorrow is Good Friday. Whoop whoop! We're getting a 7Brew!! I'm gonna let the new wear off before I go, but dang I am so excited for this! Have y'all tried it?? My sister gave me this MacKenzie Child's cookie jar for my bday and I love!! I made some white chocolate, peanut, and M&M clusters and they looked so cute in it! I will try just about anything once haha, but I finally jumped on the Tik Tok bandwagon and grabbed this facial brush for lymphatic drainage. My mind could very easily be playing tricks on me, but I'm gonna say I see a difference! Got mind from Amazon! And I cannot close out this post without mentioning Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month! Please, please, please educate yourself on what it means to have Autism, how to explain it to your children, how to advocate, how to include, how to help- all the things!! Please remember, if...

 And just like that.....it's CHRISTMAS BREAK! And my last post of 2025! But before all of that, let's get into some faves from my week! Linking up with Erika and Andrea. Some Christmas funnies for ya.... šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ "Underground Spirit Week" We dress up or do something silly and the students have no idea, so it's constant confusion and laughter! So fun! Monday- PJ day. Tuesday-  Anything but a bag. Wednesday- Favorite Christmas song or movie character. Oh Christmas Tree, Rocking Around the Christmas Tree, or as one student said...the Rockefeller Christmas Tree! Thursday- Christmas tree topper meets hat.
