Big Canoe PART ONE

Happy Wednesday! Today is my first day back to school! It's been about two and a half years since I've been in school, so I'm excited, hopeful, and a little nervous😬.

Today I'm bringing you PART ONE of our trip to Big Canoe! Our first trip to Big Canoe was in the summer of 2021 with my family. I think there were 11 of us on that trip, so we kind of all did our own things in smaller groups. One day we did rent a boat and we all had a lake day! We had so much fun and were already trying to plan our next trip back! Caleb just finished up a big project at work, and when he found out he'd be getting a week off, Big Canoe was one of the first places he mentioned wanting to go. His favorite thing from our first trip was the golf course, so that's another one of the reasons he wanted to go back. Golf was the only thing we planned for the trip and everything else we did on a whim! Here are days one and two!

As soon as we got into town (even before going to our cabin!) we stopped at the local grocery store. I have recently gained a grocery store obsession😂. But isn't this one SO cute?! We grabbed snacks and lunch and dinner items for the week.

Here is our cute little "Treetopper!" We stayed in "The Bee's Knees" and booked through VRBO. We loved it!

A good evening view! I made our fave pasta- Goat Cheese and Penne!- and we watched The Big Bang Theory and listened to the rain😍.

Up and at 'em early for Caleb to play golf! I'm a really good cart rider- sometime I even drive😂.

You just cannot beat these views!

I came prepared with the snacks!

Since we were on vacation, I decided ice cream before dinner was a fabulous idea! We went to a cute little sweet shoppe in Jasper called Lollidrops.

Once we were back in the cabin and not so full off of ice cream, Caleb grilled steaks and potatoes for dinner! YUM!

We of course watched The Big Bang Theory after dinner! And that concludes day one and two! Have a great Wednesday!

My plan is to see y'all back here on January 13! For some food faves.... I grabbed the raspberry kringle at Aldi the other day after seeing so many positive reviews on it. It is really good!! I had some with a cup of coffee a couple times this week! Last night, Caleb made lasagna soup- YUM. Definitely a favorite of mine lately! A great way to end the night.... Caleb made me a cosmopolitan the other night. Yum! I am really going to miss this sight.... This is my favorite time of year for sure! Twinkly lights and candle light = the BEST.  Happy Friday, friends!! How was your week? One of my summer classes started this week, so I have been getting back into a bit of a routine which is nice! As always, I am linking up with Erika and Andrea to share some faves from the week.  How cute is our new wreath sash?? My mom got it for us, and I am obsessed! Lots of food faves this week.... Another salsa I am now obsessed with! I found this at Aldi, and y'all it is SO good! I used it in a recipe, but I am definitely going to get another jar to eat for a snack or with lunch or dinner! Now for a Tik Tok "recipe". I used quotations, because it's really just a chop/open a can and throw together situation. Corn, black beans, pinto beans, onion, tomato, cilantro. I ate it with tortilla chips for lunch this week. It was so good! Next time, I would add more tomato and use less onion (maybe even no onion at all), and I should have chopped up the cilantro a little better! I also squeezed in some lime juice and added salt a...

Happy last Friday of August! As always, I am here to link up with Erika and Andrea to share some faves from my week.  To be honest, it feels out of touch to make this post. After the devastating news of yet another school shooting, my heart is so heavy. Innocent lives taken and still no changes from people in power. I honestly do not know how anyone can see news like this and not be enraged and demanding for change. I do not get political on here, because that is not what I want for this space. However, I feel the need to share my thoughts about this. America needs gun control. ALL Americans need access to healthcare, especially when it comes to mental health. America needs change. Remember these things when you vote. Think about your babies, their friends, their teachers. Stay aware, stay educated. But also please make sure you spend time doing things that bring you joy (it's good for your mental health!). That is at least what I am going to do. With that being said, here ar...
