Christmas Memories

Happy Wednesday!! The other day, I was looking back at old pictures and came across some fun (and OLD) Christmas memories, so I thought they needed a permanent place on my blog!

Starting out with some veeerrrryyyy old pics...

Thank you Jesus for braces. Why I was obsessed with that choker, I have no idea. And big thanks to my mom for this being our Christmas card...whew.

Oh sweet little Dierks. You may never again find a picture of me gladly holding a dog 🤣.

The 2010 snow!

The year we spent Thanksgiving at the beach, and they had this big tree up at Destin Commons. This was a particularly hard Christmas, so we needed this little bit of joy!

Nutcracker memories!

We used to go every year to see NB!

The year we learned how to make those fun bows...

and then drove to Louisiana for Christmas lights. We're always up for crazy Christmas adventures!

Our sister spend the night on Christmas Eve!

Oh Phi Mu, aren't you cute?? It was nice to have a little Christmas cheer when I couldn't be at home with my family.

This angel baby's first Christmas. Where did the time go?? Also our last "normal" Christmas, because the next year....

Our "covid Christmas" in Nashville. (Don't worry, everything was done safely and masks were worn inside 😉.)

And Christmas Eve service at home. My family and Caleb's family have gone to this service together for the last nine years...2023 being our TENTH! In 2020, we went over to the Buckner's house to try to make it feel a little bit normal.

Vegas, I sure do love you at Christmastime. We stayed one night in Vegas and then went to St. George, Utah, for a few days and then went back to Vegas for another night.

Some skied, some stayed in the car, some went to the lodge and drank different beers and ate a bunch of food.....

Always my very favorite night of the year.

Our first married Christmas!

His dinosaur ornament had to go at the top of the tree.

Luna's first Christmas! Oh Luna Belle, I'm not sure what we would do without you 🤣. (Also, shorts and t-shirt....can you say Christmas in the south any louder??🤣)

He's always up for a "Smapchap" filter! Christmas is a little bit sweeter with Reid around- the magic of Santa and his eight tiny reindeer live in his sweet little heart, along with baby Jesus which is the sweetest part of all.

We sure do love Christmas around here! As you can see, my favorite memories are never the gifts I receive but the family and friends we spend this time of year with. It doesn't matter what we're doing or where we are, as long as we're together! Merry Christmas, friends!

Happy Friday!! I hope you all had a great week! I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea today to share some faves from my week. Well guess what is back tonight?? NEW Hallmark Christmas movies!! Ummm YAY!! I'm most excited about Confessions of a Christmas Letter (Angela from The Office is starring in that one!) and Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story! For some foodie faves... This right here. It made my week. I'm obsessed with the tuna from Beagle Bagel. It's amazing. I can never say it enough! I made egg drop soup for the lunch the other day, and it was really good! It's always been my favorite soup from Chinese buffets. I didn't feel great and wanted a soup...luckily I had all the ingredients. I used this recipe here. The weather this week was absolute perfection.  I mean, it was really, really cool. And it was fabulous. So, that means.... I broke out a sweater and my Sorel booties that I love so much! I always forget how good the Bible app is. I opened it up...

Let's Look: September 2024

Hey, friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today is the September edition of Let's Look. But before I get into that, I want to talk a bit about today, September 11. Today is the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. I was only one year old when this happened, so I obviously do not remember where I was or what I was doing or anything from this day. All I know is because of the people who continue to honor to victims and the heroes of this day. I have had the honor of visiting the memorial and museum in NYC twice now, and both times I have been were such an incredible experience. Visiting there is heavy. It is sad. It's informative. It's also beautiful to see how our country came together in such an awful time. I love this picture that I took on my last visit. The leaves in the picture are from a tree that survived everything from that day 23 years ago. It was transported to a greenhouse for a while, but it was eventually moved back, and I loved that I could...
