Weekend Recap

Hello Monday!! How was your weekend? We had a FUN weekend!! I'm linking up with Holly and Sarah to share all about it! Here's what we did....

First I want to share some funnies I came across over the weekend...

Right?? I'm so tired of sad beige anything, but mostly sad beige Christmas...sigh.

Why not let Amazon take care of your wrapping this year 😂.

Are you a planner person?? I'm better at just planning out the week in my notes app or on a sheet of copy paper.

Excuse the language on this one, but, as I just updated Caleb on the final score of the Chiefs/Bills game, it could not be any more ME if it tried 😂.

Ok, now on to our weekend.

Friday night, we went to Caleb's work Christmas party. If you were here last year, you may remember that one of the ladies he works with made everyone a Christmas ornament. Here is this year's! Isn't is so cute??

On Saturday, Caleb and I both worked a little. For dinner we made the BEST red beans and rice. Sausage, one can of Blue Runner Red Beans, and rice. Simple and delish!

After dinner, I painted my nails. (Coca-Cola Red by OPI)

A Sunday morning peppermint mocha!!

Birmingham is only about two hours from us, so it makes for a great day trip! We headed out Sunday morning and hit up The Summit for...

P.F. Chang's. Chang's Spicy Chicken is my very favorite!!

The Great Wall of Chocolate....need I say more??

We made a Trader Joe's run, so I will have a haul for you later this week!!

We also went to World Market, where I stocked up on holiday themed wines! Apparently, I love cute bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon 😂.

And when you're near (what my mom and I consider) the BEST Homegoods ever, you have to make a stop. (It's the Homegoods on 280!) We got a syrup for our lattes....

And they had out a few Valentine's Day items, so I grabbed some kitchen towels!

And that was our weekend! Have a great Monday!!

Happy Friday!! I hope you all had a great week! I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea today to share some faves from my week. Well guess what is back tonight?? NEW Hallmark Christmas movies!! Ummm YAY!! I'm most excited about Confessions of a Christmas Letter (Angela from The Office is starring in that one!) and Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story! For some foodie faves... This right here. It made my week. I'm obsessed with the tuna from Beagle Bagel. It's amazing. I can never say it enough! I made egg drop soup for the lunch the other day, and it was really good! It's always been my favorite soup from Chinese buffets. I didn't feel great and wanted a soup...luckily I had all the ingredients. I used this recipe here. The weather this week was absolute perfection.  I mean, it was really, really cool. And it was fabulous. So, that means.... I broke out a sweater and my Sorel booties that I love so much! I always forget how good the Bible app is. I opened it up...

Let's Look: September 2024

Hey, friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today is the September edition of Let's Look. But before I get into that, I want to talk a bit about today, September 11. Today is the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. I was only one year old when this happened, so I obviously do not remember where I was or what I was doing or anything from this day. All I know is because of the people who continue to honor to victims and the heroes of this day. I have had the honor of visiting the memorial and museum in NYC twice now, and both times I have been were such an incredible experience. Visiting there is heavy. It is sad. It's informative. It's also beautiful to see how our country came together in such an awful time. I love this picture that I took on my last visit. The leaves in the picture are from a tree that survived everything from that day 23 years ago. It was transported to a greenhouse for a while, but it was eventually moved back, and I loved that I could...
