Ready for Summer

 Anyone else ready for summer?? Don't get me wrong, I love this time of year. Truly. But on January 45th, I'm a little burnt out on winter. I'm ready for warm, sunny days. So, here's my summer bucket list! (And just to be clear, I will have these exact same feelings come September when it's still 100 degrees outside- I will absolutely be ready for Christmas!)

Make more jam! I made freezer jam last year, and I'm so sad because it's all gone now. I know to make a lot more this summer! (I even made biscuits from scratch a couple times!)

Try again with the hydrangeas. I think we learned a few dos and don'ts and might have a better chance at making it this work this year.

Enjoy the beach. I'm not a beach person at all. But I also love to go to the beach. But not actually ON the beach. Does that make sense? Probably not. And I get that. But this year on our beach trip, I want to actually try to enjoy the beach. But also still go shopping.........

Make this pasta salad and pimento cheese again. To me, this picture screams summer in Mississippi.

Eat tomato sandwiches again. I learned last summer that I actually like tomato sandwiches! More of that this summer, please!

Learn how to play golf. For real this time. I told Caleb last year that I wanted to learn, but I quickly gave up.

Sit on our porch and make s'mores. Yeah, we have yet to do this. We really should!

Farmer's Market! We have a local Saturday morning market, and I really want to go this year! We've just never made a point to go, and I really don't know why.

I'm sure I'll come up with more things to do, but for now this is what's on my summer bucker list! Have a great Wednesday!

Let's Look: September 2024

 Hey, friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today is the September edition of Let's Look. But before I get into that, I want to talk a bit about today, September 11. Today is the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. I was only one year old when this happened, so I obviously do not remember where I was or what I was doing or anything from this day. All I know is because of the people who continue to honor to victims and the heroes of this day. I have had the honor of visiting the memorial and museum in NYC twice now, and both times I have been were such an incredible experience. Visiting there is heavy. It is sad. It's informative. It's also beautiful to see how our country came together in such an awful time. I love this picture that I took on my last visit. The leaves in the picture are from a tree that survived everything from that day 23 years ago. It was transported to a greenhouse for a while, but it was eventually moved back, and I loved that I could...

Friday Favorites {10.18.24}

 Happy Friday!! I hope you all had a great week! I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea today to share some faves from my week. Well guess what is back tonight?? NEW Hallmark Christmas movies!! Ummm YAY!! I'm most excited about Confessions of a Christmas Letter (Angela from The Office is starring in that one!) and Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story! For some foodie faves... This right here. It made my week. I'm obsessed with the tuna from Beagle Bagel. It's amazing. I can never say it enough! I made egg drop soup for the lunch the other day, and it was really good! It's always been my favorite soup from Chinese buffets. I didn't feel great and wanted a soup...luckily I had all the ingredients. I used this recipe here. The weather this week was absolute perfection.  I mean, it was really, really cool. And it was fabulous. So, that means.... I broke out a sweater and my Sorel booties that I love so much! I always forget how good the Bible app is. I opened it up...
