2024 Monthly Goals

Happy February, friends!! January was forever long, but we have finally made it to a new month! With this new month, I started thinking about a goal I could set for myself each month. So, here are the goals I came up with, and I'm hoping you will join me!

January: Dry January. I can check this one off! Minus the first few days when we were still on our cruise, I did not have any alcohol in January!

February: No Spend February. Whew. This will be hard for me. Now, I'll obviously still spend on things like food, gas, etc., but no unnecessary purchases like new clothes, shoes, etc.

March: Clean Out/Declutter March. I'm going to commit to getting rid of something each week in the month of March. It doesn't matter how much or how little each week, as long as I get rid of something that is no longer serving me or our home.

April: Gratitude April. Each day, I'm going to write down something I am grateful for. I'm not setting a limit to how many things, but I'll add to a list every day!

May: More Me Time May. Before you can take care of others, you have to take care of yourself. You can't pour from an empty bucket.....So, in May, I'm going to spend a little more time doing the things that recharge and energize me. More reading, more self care nights, more things I love.

June: No Snooze June. No hitting snooze during the week! I usually don't set an alarm on the weekends (unless we're going to church). This one is soooo hard for me, but I'm going to commit to it!!

July: Social Media Break July. I'll still be here each morning, but I want to spend less time scrolling Instagram, TikTok, and I've basically already given up Facebook. It's so mentally draining, and I need to start taking more intentional breaks!

August: New Recipe August. Let's try a new recipe every week in August! I get so tired of coming up with dinner ideas, but I also love cooking and trying new recipes. So, I'm going to branch out a little and try something new every week.

September: Step It Up September. I do not get nearly enough steps in each day, so I'm going to see if I can get at least 10,000 or more each day.

October: Outdoors October. The weather will be starting to get cooler here in Mississippi, so it will be the perfect time to get outside a bit more. 10 or more minutes a day is what I'm committing to.

November: No Heat November. That is, no heat on the hair! No blow dryer, not curling iron, no hot water!! Did you know hot water can damage your hair just as much as a hot tool? Turn down the water temp and get that hair healthy again!

December: Do Something Kind December. December is the month of giving, but let's give a little more and want a little less. Compliment someone, hold the door for someone, volunteer, give someone a thoughtful gift, etc., all without expecting anything in return. Let's just do something kind for someone in December. I know it can also be a difficult month for many, so let's be a bright spot in someone's day!

Have you set any goals for 2024?? I'll also remind y'all of my words for 2024: Freedom, Growth, Abundance. I love setting words for the year instead of a long list of resolutions, and I'm thinking these little monthly will goals will also be better!!

Have a very happy Thursday!!

Happy Friday!! I hope you all had a great week! I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea today to share some faves from my week. Well guess what is back tonight?? NEW Hallmark Christmas movies!! Ummm YAY!! I'm most excited about Confessions of a Christmas Letter (Angela from The Office is starring in that one!) and Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story! For some foodie faves... This right here. It made my week. I'm obsessed with the tuna from Beagle Bagel. It's amazing. I can never say it enough! I made egg drop soup for the lunch the other day, and it was really good! It's always been my favorite soup from Chinese buffets. I didn't feel great and wanted a soup...luckily I had all the ingredients. I used this recipe here. The weather this week was absolute perfection.  I mean, it was really, really cool. And it was fabulous. So, that means.... I broke out a sweater and my Sorel booties that I love so much! I always forget how good the Bible app is. I opened it up...

Let's Look: September 2024

Hey, friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today is the September edition of Let's Look. But before I get into that, I want to talk a bit about today, September 11. Today is the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. I was only one year old when this happened, so I obviously do not remember where I was or what I was doing or anything from this day. All I know is because of the people who continue to honor to victims and the heroes of this day. I have had the honor of visiting the memorial and museum in NYC twice now, and both times I have been were such an incredible experience. Visiting there is heavy. It is sad. It's informative. It's also beautiful to see how our country came together in such an awful time. I love this picture that I took on my last visit. The leaves in the picture are from a tree that survived everything from that day 23 years ago. It was transported to a greenhouse for a while, but it was eventually moved back, and I loved that I could...
