Weekend Recap

Well, HELLO MONDAY!! I'm linking up with Holly and Sarah to share all about our weekend!

Friday morning, I got up and packed a bag for the weekend to head to my mom's! My first stop was the hair salon!! I got a much needed haircut- it had been almost two years since my last cut 😮.

That afternoon, we headed to my youngest brother's first baseball game of the season....where this little boy decided he was big enough for a "hamburger" aka a Chick-fil-a sandwich. I asked him why he looked seven years old and he said "because I am" 😂. He, in fact, will only be five in April- ha!

Saturday morning, my sister went to the nail salon. If you've followed for a while, you may remember that I accidentally gave myself an allergy to gel nail polish- oops. Anyway, I decided I wanted to try dip nails, and so far SO good!! The only thing is that my nails feel kind tight...my sister said that's pretty normal though. Oh, and the nail lady STABBED one of my fingers with the little cuticle cutter. Hahaha. My dip color is Strawberry Margarita by OPI.

After our nail appointment, we stopped for a quick lunch at our, hands down, FAVORITE local place- Beagle Bagel. If you ever find yourself in Jackson or Madison, you must make a stop for the best tuna melt on a sourdough bagel you'll ever have...and the pasta salad!

Then, we got ready to head to our cousin's wedding! And here's a pic of my new short hair!

I had to grab a pic of the cakes!

Here's the groom's cake. Yum!

Sunday morning, Lib and I went to Sunday School with our mom and step-dad. And there were donuts there. Enough said. Plus, a great message that we all reaallllyyyy needed to hear!!

After Mexican for lunch (um, duh!), we headed back to Starkville. When we got home, Caleb had our Super Bowl food ready to go! Yumm and...

YUM.

I finished the night with homework!

I hope you all have a very happy and blessed Monday!!

Happy Friday!! I hope you all had a great week! I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea today to share some faves from my week. Well guess what is back tonight?? NEW Hallmark Christmas movies!! Ummm YAY!! I'm most excited about Confessions of a Christmas Letter (Angela from The Office is starring in that one!) and Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story! For some foodie faves... This right here. It made my week. I'm obsessed with the tuna from Beagle Bagel. It's amazing. I can never say it enough! I made egg drop soup for the lunch the other day, and it was really good! It's always been my favorite soup from Chinese buffets. I didn't feel great and wanted a soup...luckily I had all the ingredients. I used this recipe here. The weather this week was absolute perfection.  I mean, it was really, really cool. And it was fabulous. So, that means.... I broke out a sweater and my Sorel booties that I love so much! I always forget how good the Bible app is. I opened it up...

Let's Look: September 2024

Hey, friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today is the September edition of Let's Look. But before I get into that, I want to talk a bit about today, September 11. Today is the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. I was only one year old when this happened, so I obviously do not remember where I was or what I was doing or anything from this day. All I know is because of the people who continue to honor to victims and the heroes of this day. I have had the honor of visiting the memorial and museum in NYC twice now, and both times I have been were such an incredible experience. Visiting there is heavy. It is sad. It's informative. It's also beautiful to see how our country came together in such an awful time. I love this picture that I took on my last visit. The leaves in the picture are from a tree that survived everything from that day 23 years ago. It was transported to a greenhouse for a while, but it was eventually moved back, and I loved that I could...
