Charleston {Part Two}

Happy Thursday!! Welcome to PART TWO of our Charleston trip from last week!! (PLUS, our day in Pawley's Island!) In case you missed it, here is PART ONE.

On day two, we started the day by going to Harris Teeter. If you know, you know...I have a bit of a grocery store obsession. I thought I took pictures at the store, but I guess I didn't. Also, did you know Harris Teeter is owned by Kroger?? The whole time we were in there, I was thinking it reminded me of a fancy, smaller Kroger. I did a quick Google search about it and lo and behold....and we got to use our Kroger card there. #adulting

We took our finds back to the hotel and decided on lunch. I was in the mood for sushi, so we headed there. We got there a few minutes before they opened, so we went into the liquor store next door. The lady working in there was very kind, and it was a nice store.

Sushi time! We tried lemon on our sushi for the first time, and I am now a huge fan! The spicy tuna was my fave though!

While we were eating, we decided we would go to the aquarium next. Pretty views walking in!

Allll the fishies. The whole time we were there I just kept thinking how much my nieces and nephews would have loved it! Reid is VERY into fishing right now, so I know he would have been in fish heaven!

This little guy kept moving his fin in a way that I swear he was waving at us!

Liberty the bald eagle! I did think it was neat that a lot of their animals, fish, etc., are injured to the point that living in the wild is not safe for them, so the aquarium gives them a second chance at life.

If I remember correctly, this is a bream. Which Reid talks about. Quite a bit 😉.

Found Dory!!

After the aquarium, we headed to Total Wine.....

Caleb snapped this picture of me, and it could not have been more accurate. I mean, wine everywhere. you. turn. They did have my favorite chardonnay that I can never find anywhere else, though!

Homegoods was across the street, so you know what that means! I had to go! I am sad to report that it was not a great store, but...

Close by was Duck Donuts, so we had to check it out! Their donuts are made to order, so they were hot and fresh! And delish!

We went back to the hotel and ate our leftovers from the previous night, because we had SO much leftover! But, we decided we needed something sweat! Ice cream, nutter butters, skittles, and wine- a perfect night in!

Wednesday morning, we got in the car and headed to Pawley's Island! It was about an hour and a half away from Charleston. Why did we do this you might ask.....

To visit my very favorite boutique (where probably over half of my closet is from 😂). Mimi Seabrook! I was almost more overwhelmed there than I was at Total Wine. Where was Caleb and his camera then??? I've been wanting to visit the boutique for a long, long time. I knew I wanted to buy something, but I didn't quite know what. So, I went with a dress from their very own collection, King+Pitt (you can read about the collection here). I also grabbed a cute pair of earrings, but they look to be sold out now. If you do shop Mimi Seabrook, be sure to sign up for their rewards program!

We had lunch at a place we did not love, but Pawley's redeemed herself with Paradice Homemade Ice Cream. My mom and step-dad came here a few months ago and recommended this to us. It was SO good!! I had dark chocolate and Caleb had butterfinger.

On our drive back to Charleston, we decided to go see the Angel Oak. It was massive and so neat!

After that, we were so close to Kiawah, we decided to head there.

I spotted Freshfields village, and we stopped there. It was a cute little shopping center, but we did not stay long.

Then, we HAD to find "Sarah Cameron's" house. If you have never seen Outer Banks, you should watch it! A lot of it is filmed in Charleston, and this is the house of one of the main characters. It's also a wedding venue!

Yeah, I'm a stalker. They had it pretty much blocked off, so this was really all we could see.

A little OOTD back in the room.

And then we headed to dinner. On our way, we passed this place that I thought was so adorable. We did not eat here, but I kind of wish we had.

Yes, even on vacation I have to get my Mexican food fix. This was my FAVORITE place we ate all week. Shocker! The watermelon marg was delish, and the food was amazing! We headed back to the hotel right after dinner- we were so dang full.

And there's part two!! Thanks for reading!!

  1. We went to the aquarium on our Charleston trip too! We drove over to Sullivan's Island and Island of Palms but mostly just to walk along the beach in the morning and enjoy the sunrise... in fact I don't think I did ANY shopping while we were there.

Let's Look: September 2024

Hey, friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today is the September edition of Let's Look. But before I get into that, I want to talk a bit about today, September 11. Today is the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. I was only one year old when this happened, so I obviously do not remember where I was or what I was doing or anything from this day. All I know is because of the people who continue to honor to victims and the heroes of this day. I have had the honor of visiting the memorial and museum in NYC twice now, and both times I have been were such an incredible experience. Visiting there is heavy. It is sad. It's informative. It's also beautiful to see how our country came together in such an awful time. I love this picture that I took on my last visit. The leaves in the picture are from a tree that survived everything from that day 23 years ago. It was transported to a greenhouse for a while, but it was eventually moved back, and I loved that I could...
