Charleston {Part Four}

 Hey friends! Today I am sharing the fourth and final part of our trip to Charleston, SC, a couple weeks ago. If you missed the first three parts, you can find those here.

Friday morning started by me sending this picture to my sister and grandmother, assuring them I was still in the bed and ok....Life 360 showed me being in a random place since sometime during the night. So weird!

Then, we were up and ready and headed to Shem Creek. It was a beautiful day!

We sat here at a restaurant called Sunsets for lunch and watched the boats and all other water activity. We shared oysters, I had a lobster roll, and Caleb had shrimp. When we were sitting there eating, I noticed I was feeling a little dizzy, but I wrote it off as not wearing my sunglasses while outside.

Once we were done eating, we drove to the other side of the creek to walk along the boardwalk. When we got there, I was feeling so dizzy and didn't think I could walk. So of course, I did what you should NOT do, and I went to "Dr. Google." I diagnosed myself with either anaphylactic shock or toxic fish poisoning. I mean, really Maddie?πŸ˜‚ So, Caleb asked if I needed him to take me to the ER. I didn't want to go to the ER and it be nothing, so we just went back to the hotel. I did end up getting sick, and I have since determined that it was probably a migraine- NOT a new shellfish allergy or fish poisoning.

I mean, what an exciting morning! Here I am after all of that and finally feeling better. We decided to head to.....

My favorite place! This was a pretty good Trader Joe's. I have a haul from that day here.

And then, we made it back out to Shem Creek. Some of Outer Banks is filmed here! The boardwalk wasn't very long, so that was nice since it was so hot. There were people out there just walking like us, some had their dogs, and I think some people were fishing. It was a nice (and quiet!) little area.

After Shem Creek, we weren't quite ready for dinner, but we really didn't have anything else that we wanted to go do or see. So, we headed back to the room to decide what we wanted to do for dinner. Well, we decided on none other than....

Chili's. Yep. After being sick, the one thing I wanted was chips and salsa. So weird, I know.

Then, we decided we needed ice cream one last time. I would have loved it if were close to the place we went in Pawley's Island, but unfortunately that was an hour away. But, we ended up stumbling upon a cute little area! There were so many trees that I couldn't really get a great picture, but it looked like a cute little Hallmark town. The street was East Montague Avenue, and the ice cream shop was Park Circle Creamery. The ice cream was made in house, and the ladies working in there were so sweet!

The next morning, we were up and out bright and early. We had a great time, and I would definitely go back! I think late fall or around Christmas would be a lot of fun!

Ok, that wraps up my Charleston recap! Thanks for reading!

Let's Look: January 2026

 Happy Wednesday!! Let's Look is one of my very favorite blog link ups and after not doing it last year, I am ready for it in 2026! I am linking up with Shay and Erika for this monthly series! Today, we are LOOKING at..... THINGS WE OUTSOURCE WITHOUT REGRET. Ok, there are so many things you can outsource that I just would rather do myself. I love to grocery shop. I think I would be weirded out by someone else doing my laundry. A house keeper is just not something we currently need or really want. BUT, there are occasions when outsourcing is just what needs to be done. Grocery Delivery/Pickup We don't do this often, but when we do it's pretty nice. That being said, I am usually ready to get back in the grocery store myself! Food Delivery This is another one we do not do often, but a Wednesday free delivery from Wingstop has sucked me in a few times πŸ˜‚. And of course, pizza delivery is always nice! Plus, we can get food delivered to the school I work out, so that's nice e...

Friday Favorites {4.2.26}

 Happy THURSDAY. My days are getting so mixed up with a Friday holiday haha! Posting Friday Faves a day early since tomorrow is Good Friday. Whoop whoop! We're getting a 7Brew!! I'm gonna let the new wear off before I go, but dang I am so excited for this! Have y'all tried it?? My sister gave me this MacKenzie Child's cookie jar for my bday and I love!! I made some white chocolate, peanut, and M&M clusters and they looked so cute in it! I will try just about anything once haha, but I finally jumped on the Tik Tok bandwagon and grabbed this facial brush for lymphatic drainage. My mind could very easily be playing tricks on me, but I'm gonna say I see a difference! Got mind from Amazon! And I cannot close out this post without mentioning Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month! Please, please, please educate yourself on what it means to have Autism, how to explain it to your children, how to advocate, how to include, how to help- all the things!! Please remember, if...
