Monthly Musings: February 2025

Happy Thursday, friends! I'm here to link up with Holly and Patty for Monthly Musings!!

Each month has a festive theme, we answer some questions, and link back to Holly and Patty!

For the month of LOVE, we are talking about.....

How we show LOVE.

 1. What is your love language?

Ok, I took a quiz to find out, because I really wasn't sure. Well, apparently my primary love language is quality time. I would say that's pretty accurate! And not just with Caleb, but with family too!

2. Favorite love songs?

Well, wouldn't you know...anything Taylor Swift 😂. Some favorites include Enchanted, Lover, So High School.

3. Flowers, chocolate, or something else?

Flowers and chocolate were all I told Caleb I wanted this year! We never do anything big for Valentine's, so I think that's perfect.

These roses were from Trader Joe's a couple years ago. Aren't they so pretty??

4. Favorite romantic/romcom movie?

I love Valentine's Day (especially on the day!) and many many others. I'm sure I'll forget one or two, but You've Got Mail, Mamma Mia!, The Proposal, 13 Going on 30, and soooo many more!

5. Favorite childhood Valentine's memory?

When I think about Valentine's Day growing up, I always remember my mom laying out our Valentine's gifts, surrounded by lots of Dove chocolate hearts, and then her making pink heart shaped pancakes!

6. How did you celebrate Valentine's Day?

The past few years we have had Papa John's. We thought about doing something different this year, but we went with our usual!

7. Any love or romance traditions?

Just staying in and being together!

8. When do you feel most loved?

I guess I would say when I know I am being truly appreciated.

9. Big night out or chill at home?

Chill at home. We are such homebodies 😂. We just do not want to fight those crowds.

10. Do you wear red/pink on Valentine's Day?

PINK. I think y'all know pink is my favorite color!

Have a happy Thursday!💘

  1. You look great in pink! My love language is quality time too, which is why I'm okay with it if I don't get flowers for Valentines. I'd rather just do something fun together, which we did.

  2. Okay, I think your pink stripey sweater is my favourite one I've seen so far! It's festive without being too Valentine-y!

Friday Favorites {10.18.24}

Happy Friday!! I hope you all had a great week! I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea today to share some faves from my week. Well guess what is back tonight?? NEW Hallmark Christmas movies!! Ummm YAY!! I'm most excited about Confessions of a Christmas Letter (Angela from The Office is starring in that one!) and Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story! For some foodie faves... This right here. It made my week. I'm obsessed with the tuna from Beagle Bagel. It's amazing. I can never say it enough! I made egg drop soup for the lunch the other day, and it was really good! It's always been my favorite soup from Chinese buffets. I didn't feel great and wanted a soup...luckily I had all the ingredients. I used this recipe here. The weather this week was absolute perfection.  I mean, it was really, really cool. And it was fabulous. So, that means.... I broke out a sweater and my Sorel booties that I love so much! I always forget how good the Bible app is. I opened it up...

Let's Look: September 2024

Hey, friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today is the September edition of Let's Look. But before I get into that, I want to talk a bit about today, September 11. Today is the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. I was only one year old when this happened, so I obviously do not remember where I was or what I was doing or anything from this day. All I know is because of the people who continue to honor to victims and the heroes of this day. I have had the honor of visiting the memorial and museum in NYC twice now, and both times I have been were such an incredible experience. Visiting there is heavy. It is sad. It's informative. It's also beautiful to see how our country came together in such an awful time. I love this picture that I took on my last visit. The leaves in the picture are from a tree that survived everything from that day 23 years ago. It was transported to a greenhouse for a while, but it was eventually moved back, and I loved that I could...
