Monthly Musings: May 2025

Happy Thursday, friends! It's time for Monthly Musing with Holly and Patty! Today we are talking....

Kicking off summer!

1. What are you looking forward to most this summer?

Girls trip to Charleston in a couple of weeks! SO excited!

2. Any favorite summer traditions?

We don't really have any traditions, but I do love back porch sitting, outdoor dining, pool days, etc.

3. Any summer travel plans? Please dish!

We're heading to Navarre this weekend to see my mom's best friend and her daughter! Then we're headed to Charleston in a couple of weeks. Other than that, nothing else is on the agenda but we do love an impromptu vacay!

4. How do you red, white, and blue?

Nothing in particular- maybe we'll catch fireworks from our back porch!

5. Beach, lake, or pool?

Ok, I love a beach town- the atmosphere, the food, fun, etc., but I really do not love sitting on the beach. I do like hanging at the pool though!

6. Favorite summer sweet treat?

Any kind of fruity dessert, like a peach cobbler!

7. Favorite sunscreens and self tanners?

I have been loving this sunscreen for my face. And to be honest, whenever I'm using sunscreen for my body, I'm with my mom. Soooo whatever she's using 😂.

I like these drops for my face! I just mix it in with my moisturizer at night. I also like to mix it with a lotion for my body. I'm pretty sure I use the medium shade. I will also occasionally use the Jergen's natural glow lotion for my body.

8. Best flip flops or sandals?

I love a good Tory Burch flip flop for the pool and beach! I got some as a gift years and years ago and still have and love them! I grabbed this pair from the outlet a few years ago!

I also love Lemon Jelly slides for the pool. I have the 'warm grey', but I love the bright colors!

9. How are you staying fit this summer?

We recently got a Peloton bike, so I've been riding that. I'm also trying to focus on eating whole foods and cutting out processed things!

10. Favorite summer themed movies?

Hmmmm....here are a few that make me think of summer or are beachy!

Something Borrowed

Just Go With It

The Parent Trap (Lindsay Lohan version!)

Mamma Mia!

The Last Song

Hannah Montana The Movie (this one will forever be a fave!)

Something's Gotta Give

I'm sure I'm forgetting several, but those are the first on my mind!

Have a great Thursday!

Friday Favorites {10.18.24}

Happy Friday!! I hope you all had a great week! I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea today to share some faves from my week. Well guess what is back tonight?? NEW Hallmark Christmas movies!! Ummm YAY!! I'm most excited about Confessions of a Christmas Letter (Angela from The Office is starring in that one!) and Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story! For some foodie faves... This right here. It made my week. I'm obsessed with the tuna from Beagle Bagel. It's amazing. I can never say it enough! I made egg drop soup for the lunch the other day, and it was really good! It's always been my favorite soup from Chinese buffets. I didn't feel great and wanted a soup...luckily I had all the ingredients. I used this recipe here. The weather this week was absolute perfection.  I mean, it was really, really cool. And it was fabulous. So, that means.... I broke out a sweater and my Sorel booties that I love so much! I always forget how good the Bible app is. I opened it up...

Let's Look: September 2024

Hey, friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today is the September edition of Let's Look. But before I get into that, I want to talk a bit about today, September 11. Today is the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. I was only one year old when this happened, so I obviously do not remember where I was or what I was doing or anything from this day. All I know is because of the people who continue to honor to victims and the heroes of this day. I have had the honor of visiting the memorial and museum in NYC twice now, and both times I have been were such an incredible experience. Visiting there is heavy. It is sad. It's informative. It's also beautiful to see how our country came together in such an awful time. I love this picture that I took on my last visit. The leaves in the picture are from a tree that survived everything from that day 23 years ago. It was transported to a greenhouse for a while, but it was eventually moved back, and I loved that I could...
