Monthly Musings: June 2025

Happy Thursday! Today I am linking up with Holly and Patty for the June edition of Monthly Musings!

Today we are talking all things summer vacay....

1. Share you summer trips for 2025. My mom's best friend lives at the beach, so we have visited her once and plan to go back at least one more time. We just back from a super fun trip to Charleston! As of now, those are our only plans.

2. How do you manage the post-vacation laundry? Ha! I love this! As my bags are still not unpacked (I got back on Monday😂)......I guess I am going to try and knock that out today.

3. Most memorable summer vacation? When I was growing up, my mom's entire side of the family would get a big beach house together, and it was SO much fun! Some people stayed the whole week and some would come and go throughout the week. I have so many fun memories from those trips!

4. Do you cook or eat out on vacation? At the beach, we have always cooked most nights and then had at least one night where we dresses up to go out. If we aren't somewhere that we have a house (or somewhere with a kitchen), we eat out.

5. Are you an overpacker, underpacker, or just right packer? I am an OVER overpacker. 😂 I like to have options.

6. Beach, lake, or mountains? I like the beach in the summer, mountains in the summer OR winter, and never the lake- ha!

7. Road trip or fly? We are usually road trippers. Unless it's a suuuper long drive.

8. Favorite vacation activities? I like to shop no matter where I go- ha!

9. Best packing tips? Packing. Cubes. They are seriously amazing! Also, when I am getting ready to pack, I like to pack as I am doing my normal daily routines. So, when I brush my teeth, toothbrush and toothpaste get packed. When I do my skincare, it all gets packed.

10. Favorite road trip songs? I think y'all probably already know my answer 😂. I don't really switch up my music too much.

Have a happy Thursday!!

  1. Charleston is definitely on our list! It looks amazing! I'm with you on the "shipping wherever I go". Thankfully, my boys don't mind it much either.

  2. I almost always unpack the minute we walk through the door... I hate it and don't know why I do that to myself but I do. I guess at least it's over that way. My husband grew up with his mother's side of the family doing that-- I joined them a few times when I was in high school and college and it was SO much fun! I have to do some sort of shopping or at least browsing or else it's just not a vacation.

Happy Friday!! I hope you all had a great week! I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea today to share some faves from my week. Well guess what is back tonight?? NEW Hallmark Christmas movies!! Ummm YAY!! I'm most excited about Confessions of a Christmas Letter (Angela from The Office is starring in that one!) and Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story! For some foodie faves... This right here. It made my week. I'm obsessed with the tuna from Beagle Bagel. It's amazing. I can never say it enough! I made egg drop soup for the lunch the other day, and it was really good! It's always been my favorite soup from Chinese buffets. I didn't feel great and wanted a soup...luckily I had all the ingredients. I used this recipe here. The weather this week was absolute perfection.  I mean, it was really, really cool. And it was fabulous. So, that means.... I broke out a sweater and my Sorel booties that I love so much! I always forget how good the Bible app is. I opened it up...

Let's Look: September 2024

Hey, friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today is the September edition of Let's Look. But before I get into that, I want to talk a bit about today, September 11. Today is the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. I was only one year old when this happened, so I obviously do not remember where I was or what I was doing or anything from this day. All I know is because of the people who continue to honor to victims and the heroes of this day. I have had the honor of visiting the memorial and museum in NYC twice now, and both times I have been were such an incredible experience. Visiting there is heavy. It is sad. It's informative. It's also beautiful to see how our country came together in such an awful time. I love this picture that I took on my last visit. The leaves in the picture are from a tree that survived everything from that day 23 years ago. It was transported to a greenhouse for a while, but it was eventually moved back, and I loved that I could...
