Happy Wednesday! Ok, I rarely ever do new year's resolutions anymore, because I just do not stick to them. Maybe I put too much pressure on myself to finish them?? What about you?
I do however pick a few words each year (connection, self-care, miracles, lessons). I feel like I have done somewhat of a good job with those so far. However, there are a few habits that I really want to create and what better time to start than the last 6 months of the year??
So, here are the habits I want to create...
-Make the bed every day (make it while the coffee is brewing! A made bed just looks nice and makes the room seem so much more tidy. There's a quote out there- if you know who it's from, let me know!- that says something to the effect of "if you made your bed today, you have accomplished one thing already")
-Stop impulse purchasing (no more random purchases from Marshall's, Homegoods, Amazon, Target- really focus on quality items/pieces that I won't get tired of in 3 months! Make a list in my phone of things I really want and be selective about looks and quality! Good rule of thumb: If I didn't need it until I saw it, I do not need it.)
-Drink water before coffee in the morning (drink a glass of water while the coffee is brewing/while making the bed! And keep refilling throughout the day!)
-Get up and out of bed, instead of laying around far too long while scrolling social media (Mel Robbins' 5,4,3,2,1 method really does work! Count down and when you get to one, get out of bed. And STOP hitting snooze!!)
I kept trying to come up with a 5th habit (hello OCD!), but I really just want to focus on these four things. Maybe 5 can be "Challenge your obsessive tendencies"😂.... Anyway, I'm posting this to my blog to help keep me accountable. And maybe this will encourage one of you out there to create some new habits!
Have a great Wednesday!
Well I need to work on the 5,4,3,2,1!!
ReplyDeleteIt works!!
DeleteThese are great habits to try and adopt. I only started making my bed everyday this year. It is something so small but makes such a difference.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good way of thinking about impulse buys, If I didn't need it until I saw it, I do not need it!
Good luck!
Thank you Kim! Making the bed definitely makes a huge difference! Impulse buying is such a struggle for me- ha!
