Friday Favorites {8.29.25}

 Happy last Friday of August! As always, I am here to link up with Erika and Andrea to share some faves from my week.

To be honest, it feels out of touch to make this post. After the devastating news of yet another school shooting, my heart is so heavy. Innocent lives taken and still no changes from people in power. I honestly do not know how anyone can see news like this and not be enraged and demanding for change. I do not get political on here, because that is not what I want for this space. However, I feel the need to share my thoughts about this. America needs gun control. ALL Americans need access to healthcare, especially when it comes to mental health. America needs change. Remember these things when you vote. Think about your babies, their friends, their teachers. Stay aware, stay educated.

But also please make sure you spend time doing things that bring you joy (it's good for your mental health!). That is at least what I am going to do. With that being said, here are few favorites from my week....

My very favorite Keurig pods are the Starbucks Holiday Blend. The Fall Blend *might* be a close second!

I also tried my hand at an at home pumpkin cream cold brew....I frothed Chobani pumpkin spice creamer and poured it on top of my iced coffee!

I mentioned a week or so ago that we have a student in our class that only speaks Spanish. So, we communicate mostly through the translator app.

This was a favorite translation from the week. A magnet. He was looking for a magnet. There are also a few things that he says that I can mostly understand with my very basic knowledge of the Spanish language. Plus, he is beginning to use a few English words. Progress!!

This is so not healthy but dang it's good! This was my after school snack almost every day this week!

Another favorite that I do not have any pictures of is Mass. The school I work at is a Catholic school, and as a school we attend Mass every week. I grew up Baptist, so it is really neat to experience the traditions of a different denomination of the Christian faith. It has quickly become one of my favorite parts of the week!

I hope you all have a great holiday weekend!

  1. Yes to gun control, Yes to mental health care-- just yes!! It's madness that this keeps happening over and over. That must be so hard to only communicate through a translation ap! But that translation is hilarious; like so close.. but No.

    1. It is utterly heartbreaking! Makes me so happy to see at least one person agree.
      It is difficult to translate, and I know it is even more difficult for the student. But goodness, we get some funny translations!

 Happy Friday!! I hope you all had a great week! I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea today to share some faves from my week. Well guess what is back tonight?? NEW Hallmark Christmas movies!!  Happy Friday, friends!! How was your week? One of my summer classes started this week, so I have been getting back into a bit of a routine which is nice! As always, I am linking up with Erika and Andrea to share some faves from the week.  How cute is our new wreath sash?? My mom got it for us, and I am obsessed! Lots of food faves this week.... Another salsa I am now obsessed with! I found this at Aldi, and y'all it is SO good! I used it in a recipe, but I am definitely going to get another jar to eat for a snack or with lunch or dinner! Now for a Tik Tok "recipe". I used quotations, because it's really just a chop/open a can and throw together situation. Corn, black beans, pinto beans, onion, tomato, cilantro. I ate it with tortilla chips for lunch this week. It was so good! Next time, I would add more tomato and use less onion (maybe even no onion at all), and I should have chopped up the cilantro a little better! I also squeezed in some lime juice and added salt a...
