Monthly Musings: September 2025

Happy Thursday!! Today I am linking up with Holly and Patty for the September edition of Monthly Musings.

1. Share how you decorate for fall.

Just simple touches here and there. I found this Jack-O-Lantern a couple years ago at Homegoods, and it's my very favorite!

2. Halloween decor- yes or no?

YES. I especially love riding through neighborhoods to see their fall/Halloween decor.

3. Pumpkins, corn stalks, or hay bales?

PUMPKINS.

4. Favorite fall fashion pieces?

A good pair of boots or booties, a great pair of jeans, a cute cardigan.

5. How do you transition your wardrobe?

Mostly just with fall colors at first. It is still super hot here in Mississippi, so sweaters are really out of the question.

This was a fave fall outfit last year! (I'm kinda missing my long hair now...)

6. Do you decorate inside and out?

Right now, I only have inside decor. Once it cools off, I really want to get some mums and some pumpkins for our front porch steps.

7. Favorite fall scents?

This. Really anything apple!

8. Go-to fall outfit?

Jeans, fall color tee, and a cardigan.

9. Do you change up your makeup/skincare for fall?

Not really. I do usually opt for darker lip sticks in the fall, though.

10. What makes your house feel cozy for fall?

Lamps, blankets, pumpkins, candles.

Have a great Thursday!

  2. Weirdly I haven't even worn sweaters yet here in Connecticut; well I did wear lighter or short sleeved ones once or twice with capri pants. But it's been an unusually warm fall. It's still even supposed to be in the 80's next week even. I'm loving it but I am struggling to dress for both the season and the weather. I bet that candle smells amazing.

Happy Friday, friends!! How was your week? One of my summer classes started this week, so I have been getting back into a bit of a routine which is nice! As always, I am linking up with Erika and Andrea to share some faves from the week.  How cute is our new wreath sash?? My mom got it for us, and I am obsessed! Lots of food faves this week.... Another salsa I am now obsessed with! I found this at Aldi, and y'all it is SO good! I used it in a recipe, but I am definitely going to get another jar to eat for a snack or with lunch or dinner! Now for a Tik Tok "recipe". I used quotations, because it's really just a chop/open a can and throw together situation. Corn, black beans, pinto beans, onion, tomato, cilantro. I ate it with tortilla chips for lunch this week. It was so good! Next time, I would add more tomato and use less onion (maybe even no onion at all), and I should have chopped up the cilantro a little better! I also squeezed in some lime juice and added salt a...

Friday Favorites {8.29.25}

Happy last Friday of August! As always, I am here to link up with Erika and Andrea to share some faves from my week.  To be honest, it feels out of touch to make this post. After the devastating news of yet another school shooting, my heart is so heavy. Innocent lives taken and still no changes from people in power. I honestly do not know how anyone can see news like this and not be enraged and demanding for change. I do not get political on here, because that is not what I want for this space. However, I feel the need to share my thoughts about this. America needs gun control. ALL Americans need access to healthcare, especially when it comes to mental health. America needs change. Remember these things when you vote. Think about your babies, their friends, their teachers. Stay aware, stay educated. But also please make sure you spend time doing things that bring you joy (it's good for your mental health!). That is at least what I am going to do. With that being said, here ar...
