Book Review: The Retirement Plan

I am way overdue for a book review, so let's get into the last book I read!

I started this book back in the summer I think but didn't finish it until we were on our Las Vegas trip. I promise I didn't get bored of it- I'm just a bad reader these days!

I loved this book! It felt very Desperate Housewives to me, and if you know me, you know how much I love DH! Without giving away too much detail, The Retirement Plan by Sue Hincenbergs centers around three wives who plan to cash out their husbands' life insurance.....in quite a creative way. This book definitely kept me on the edge of my seat, and I wanted to keep reading after it was over! I was like wait....there's no sequel?? Hahaha

Some of the characters work in a casino, so I thought it ended up being perfect that I was reading it in Vegas!

It was filled with both humor and crime, so that's where it felt like Desperate Housewives to me! Friendship, marriage struggles, dark humor....it has all the goods! I definitely recommend this one!

Let's Look: January 2026

Happy Wednesday!! Let's Look is one of my very favorite blog link ups and after not doing it last year, I am ready for it in 2026! I am linking up with Shay and Erika for this monthly series! Today, we are LOOKING at..... THINGS WE OUTSOURCE WITHOUT REGRET. Ok, there are so many things you can outsource that I just would rather do myself. I love to grocery shop. I think I would be weirded out by someone else doing my laundry. A house keeper is just not something we currently need or really want. BUT, there are occasions when outsourcing is just what needs to be done. Grocery Delivery/Pickup We don't do this often, but when we do it's pretty nice. That being said, I am usually ready to get back in the grocery store myself! Friday Favorites {4.2.26}

Happy THURSDAY. My days are getting so mixed up with a Friday holiday haha! Posting Friday Faves a day early since tomorrow is Good Friday. Whoop whoop! We're getting a 7Brew!! I'm gonna let the new wear off before I go, but dang I am so excited for this! Have y'all tried it?? My sister gave me this MacKenzie Child's cookie jar for my bday and I love!! I made some white chocolate, peanut, and M&M clusters and they looked so cute in it! I will try just about anything once haha, but I finally jumped on the Tik Tok bandwagon and grabbed this facial brush for lymphatic drainage. My mind could very easily be playing tricks on me, but I'm gonna say I see a difference! Got mind from Amazon! Friday Favorites {12.19.25}

And just like that.....it's CHRISTMAS BREAK! And my last post of 2025! But before all of that, let's get into some faves from my week! Linking up with Erika and Andrea. Some Christmas funnies for ya.... 😂😂😂 "Underground Spirit Week" We dress up or do something silly and the students have no idea, so it's constant confusion and laughter! So fun! Monday- PJ day. Tuesday- Anything but a bag. Wednesday- Favorite Christmas song or movie character. Oh Christmas Tree, Rocking Around the Christmas Tree, or as one student said...the Rockefeller Christmas Tree!
