One thing I cannot stand is the lingering smell of food from the night before- yuck! I *think* I may have cracked the code on getting rid of the smells!! Here are my tips.....
1. Light a candle before you start cooking.
Something light, airy, fresh, whatever you love! I feel like this kind of helps mask those smells initially.
2. Wipe down the counters and stove pretty soon after you are done.
I love this Method spray and love even more that it's anti-bac! I feel like that helps a bit more too.
3. Clean your sink and garbage disposal.
Get the dishes out of the sink and clean with soap! I like Dawn Powerwash or Mrs. Meyers. Also cleaning the disposal will make things a little fresher. I sometimes throw a lemon peel in- I know some people say not to but I always have!
4. Fabric spray!!
Spraying this on my furniture, pillows, blankets, rug after the food is cleaned up and put away I think really helps!! I love the fresh linen scent too!
5. Coffee grounds
If the smells are still lingering, I will put out coffee grounds! I just use my Kcup from that morning- I pour them into the trash or put in a bowl and leave on the counter.
Any other tips I should know when it comes to cooking smells?? Have a great day!

Love your drying mat, where is it from? I love your blog too! :)
ReplyDeleteAwe, thank you! I got it from Hobby Lobby last summer!
DeleteBefore you fry food, put a bowl of white vinegar on the counter. It absorbs some of the cooking odors in the air. (I learned it from my Nonna! )
ReplyDeleteOoohhh thank you!! Definitely going to try that!
DeleteGreat tips! I never think of lighting a candle before I start cooking, I think I need to try that. I love Method spray, I have a few different bottles in the cupboard all with different scents.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think Method may be my favorite counter spray I have tried!
