With Stanley cups being all the rage, let's do a little comparison between their 40oz version and the Hydrapeak 40oz.
First, let's look at price. My 40oz Quencher H2.0 Tumbler (in Fog) was $40. My 40oz Hydrapeak Roadster (in Bubblegum) was $34.99 (currently on sale for $24.95!). Obviously a huge difference there. If you don't care about trends or brand names, then Hydrapeak is the winner there!
I'm not an ice in my water kind of girl, so I unfortunately can't attest to how long ice lasts in either. My mother in law did an ice test in her Stanley, and it lasted all day long.
Car Cup Holder Test: The Hydrapeak does fit in my car cup holder, but it doesn’t fit in everyone’s. The Stanley fits across the board. The Hydrapeak is just bulky, where the Stanley is more sleek and slender.
Ok, let’s talk about the straws. A bad straw situation can bring out the worst in some people. 😬 #instagramcommentstaughtmethat The Hydrapeak straw is built into the lid, with a longer straw piece attaching under the lid. Here are some pictures if that didn’t make sense
Again, it’s just bulky all the way around. If the top of the straw isn’t aligned right, water doesn’t come out. Also if the straw is upright when you put the lid on the (full of liquid) cup, liquid shoots out of the straw.
The Stanley has this little gripper that keeps the straw in place. According to what I’ve seen on Instagram, only the newer models have this feature. I’ve also seen that the ones Target sells are the “older” version that do not have the gripper.
It has a normal straw that I like much better. Stanley is the winner here, for me at least.
Both cups have a handle and both are heavy- when you put 40oz of water in it.😉 Heaviness isn't a huge deal for me. I know whatever cup I have will be heavy with that much water in it.
The Stanley has a twist lid, the Hydrapeak does not. I much prefer the twist lid.
I turned both cups upside down, full of water. If the Hydrapeak straw is upright, water leaks out. If the straw is pushed down all the way, it does not leak. The Stanley doesn't really close up at the straw, so water leaked out.
Ok, I think I have covered pretty much everything that can be compared between these two cups. Both are honestly great options, with the Hydrapeak being more cost effective and the Stanley being less bulky and with a better straw situation- and being "on trend"😉.
I clearly love this cup😄
Have a happy Thursday! I hope you treat yourself to a fun new cup!!
