I'm back with another easy recipe for a busy night. This is one of my mom's very favorites! She always makes it on New Year's day since it has all of those things that will bring you good luck, wealth, etc. She asked me a while back if I would blog about it, so here you go!
Ingredients:
1 large can of Margaret Holmes seasoned turnip greens
1 can chicken broth
1 can Rotel tomatoes
1 can black-eyed peas, drained
1 can navy beans, drained
1 can kidney beans, drained
1 lb. smoked sausage, cut into bit size rounds
1 large onion, chopped
Directions:
1. In a large pot, add in your broth, tomatoes, beans and peas.
2. In a skillet, sauté your sausage and chopped onion until sausage is browned.
3. Add your sausage and onion into your large pot.
4. Simmer for 30 minutes.
Serve with cornbread.
