Whew! After the complete DUD that April was as far as my book reading goes, May was FABULOUS!
Let's get in to what I read in May!
Iona Iverson's Rules for Commuting by Clare Pooley
I have to preface this by saying I'm typing this sentence before I've even finished the book, but OH MY this is such a cute book! If you haven't read it, READ IT!
Now that I've finished the book, here are my remaining thoughts!
This book is all about unlikely friendships and not judging people by their outward appearances or your assumptions about what kind of person they are.
Romance.
Major life decisions.
Complete strangers to friends who don't know how to live life without each other.
I will say that I got a little bored sometimes when the story was moving slowly, but then a chapter would end on a cliffhanger!
It takes place mainly during the morning and evening train commute to London of Iona, Emmie, Martha, Sanjay, Piers, Jake, and David. These seven strangers become each other's confidants and all come together when they need each other most.
Taylor Swift: A Little Golden Book Biography by Wendy Loggia and Illustrated by Elisa Chavarri
I'm including this, because, well, it's a book, and I read it in the month of May.
Yes, it's a children's book. Yes, it's about Taylor Swift. And yes, it's adorable.
My mom started a tradition several years ago of giving me and my sister a children's book and pjs on Christmas Eve. She reads us the book, and then we put it away for our future children. So, when I see a cute children's book, I get it to put away with the books from my mom.
When I saw this book, I knew I had to get it! I ordered it on Amazon for less than $5!
If you're a "Swiftie" and/or are raising little Swifties, get this book! It's so cute, and makes a perfect little happy for the Taylor fans in your life!
The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren
It's very predictable.
Boy meets girl.
Boy and girl can't stand each other. Boy and girl are trapped together on someone else's honeymoon for ten days.
Aaaaaannnddd....you know the rest. And I loved every second of it.
It was cute, sweet, funny- I actually laughed out loud a couple times. With trying to decide whether Olive and Ethan would ever admit their feelings for each other and a little twist at the end, I didn't want to put it down! This is the perfect little beach or pool read for your summer!
I loved my May books! What should I read next??? Have a GREAT Tuesday!!
I LOVED the Unhoneymooners; it was my first Christina Lauren book and I've slowly been making my way through all their others. Did you ever read the Authenticity Project? I thought that was a super cute book?
ReplyDeleteI have not read that. I'll add it to my list!
