Big Canoe PART TWO

Happy Wednesday! Sorry I missed you all yesterday, but I'm back today with a recap of our last two days in Big Canoe!

If you missed PART ONE of our trip, you can read that here.

On day 3, we slept in and I had coffee and did The Bible Recap.

We then headed out to go wine tasting at Cairn View Winery. On our last trip we went to The Fainting Goat and loved it, but we wanted to try something different this time. I think we may have loved this one a touch more! We had charcuterie along with our wines- plus the BEST pepper jelly we have ever had! We even asked if they sold it- they don't, but our waiter was so kind to send us off with a little container of it to go!

These were our favorites that we brought home!

Back out for some golf!

These views just do not get old!

After golf, we went to get Mexican food! We loved this place last time and loved it just as much this time!

We found another ice cream shop on this night. This one is closer to Big Canoe than the first one we went to. It was so good and in such a cute little shopping center! It's called Polar Bear Ice Cream and Coffee.

Our view driving back to our treetopper one last time!

The next morning, we got up to go back home. We went through Huntsville instead of Birmingham this time to avoid some bad weather.

Once we got to Huntsville, we went straight for Trader Joe's! Here's everything I got on that trip!

For lunch we had Wahlburgers! We tried this for the first time a few years ago in Las Vegas, and we were so excited when we saw it right by Trader Joe's!

We got home about 7pm and then played this Office trivia game for quite a while!

We had a great little getaway! If you're considering a trip to the mountains, we cannot recommend Big Canoe enough! It's a great place to do nothing, but there's also TONS to do!

Have a great Wednesday!

It's always been my favorite soup from Chinese buffets. I didn't feel great and wanted a soup...luckily I had all the ingredients. I used this recipe here. The weather this week was absolute perfection.  I mean, it was really, really cool. And it was fabulous. So, that means.... I broke out a sweater and my Sorel booties that I love so much! I always forget how good the Bible app is. I opened it up...

Let's Look: September 2024

Hey, friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today is the September edition of Let's Look. But before I get into that, I want to talk a bit about today, September 11. Today is the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. I was only one year old when this happened, so I obviously do not remember where I was or what I was doing or anything from this day. All I know is because of the people who continue to honor to victims and the heroes of this day. I have had the honor of visiting the memorial and museum in NYC twice now, and both times I have been were such an incredible experience. Visiting there is heavy. It is sad. It's informative. It's also beautiful to see how our country came together in such an awful time. I love this picture that I took on my last visit. The leaves in the picture are from a tree that survived everything from that day 23 years ago. It was transported to a greenhouse for a while, but it was eventually moved back, and I loved that I could...
