Monthly Musings {February 2024}

Happy last day of February! I'm linking up with Patty and Holly for Monthly Musings! This month's topic is...

How To Survive the Winter Months!

1. What do you do in the winter that brings you joy?

Lots of cozy time spent in the house! I like to curl up with a blanket and read or watch a movie.

2. How do you stay warm and cozy?

A heated blanket is a must! A hot cup of coffee or tea while under the heated blanket, warm socks, cozy pjs......I love love love to be cozy all year long, but the winter is especially cozy!

3. What are you looking forward to this winter?

We're already having some warm days here and there, but if it's going to get cold again, I'd really love for it to snow!!

4. Favorite wintertime activities?

Anything cozy and inside 😂.

5. Favorite months of winter?

December and February!! I love Christmas and Valentine's Day!

6. Favorite dishes to make in winter?

Soup!! I made several different chicken tortilla soups in the slow cooker this year, and they were all so yummy!! My top two favorites were this buffalo ranch version and Jessie James Decker's version in her Just Eat cookbook.

7. Gas or wood burning fireplace?

Sadly, we don't have a fireplace. If we were to have one, I think I'd rather have gas logs!

8. Favorite winter hot beverage?

Any seasonal coffee at Starbucks- especially a gingerbread latte! I will also gladly take coffee at home or hot chocolate.

9. Favorite winter movies?

Anything that involving New York City, London, or a winter wedding.

10. How do you stay healthy in winter?

Drinks lots and lots of water and eat well for the most part.

Thanks for reading! Have a great day!!

  2. I also try to drink more water in the winter. It's easier to get dehydrated if you're not hot! I like staying under a blanket with a good book or TV show, too.

Friday Favorites {6.6.25}

 Happy Friday, friends!! How was your week? One of my summer classes started this week, so I have been getting back into a bit of a routine which is nice! As always, I am linking up with Erika and Andrea to share some faves from the week.  How cute is our new wreath sash?? My mom got it for us, and I am obsessed! Lots of food faves this week.... Another salsa I am now obsessed with! I found this at Aldi, and y'all it is SO good! I used it in a recipe, but I am definitely going to get another jar to eat for a snack or with lunch or dinner! Now for a Tik Tok "recipe". I used quotations, because it's really just a chop/open a can and throw together situation. Corn, black beans, pinto beans, onion, tomato, cilantro. I ate it with tortilla chips for lunch this week. It was so good! Next time, I would add more tomato and use less onion (maybe even no onion at all), and I should have chopped up the cilantro a little better! I also squeezed in some lime juice and added salt a...

Friday Favorites {8.29.25}

 Happy last Friday of August! As always, I am here to link up with Erika and Andrea to share some faves from my week.  To be honest, it feels out of touch to make this post. After the devastating news of yet another school shooting, my heart is so heavy. Innocent lives taken and still no changes from people in power. I honestly do not know how anyone can see news like this and not be enraged and demanding for change. I do not get political on here, because that is not what I want for this space. However, I feel the need to share my thoughts about this. America needs gun control. ALL Americans need access to healthcare, especially when it comes to mental health. America needs change. Remember these things when you vote. Think about your babies, their friends, their teachers. Stay aware, stay educated. But also please make sure you spend time doing things that bring you joy (it's good for your mental health!). That is at least what I am going to do. With that being said, here ar...
