Joy in the Simplicity

 Happy Wednesday! How's your week going? I am ready for Friday! I'm actually ready for NEXT Friday, because I'll be done with my summer classes.

I have a few posts on my blog about gratitude, romanticizing my life, making daily life special, and I have a JOY list. I really do try to live by all of those things, but somedays I can get caught up in life and easily forget. So, I'm here today to remind you (but especially myself!!) to find joy in the simplicity!!

This is my view as I'm typing this post. P.S. the ladder should be outta here after tomorrow 😂.

BUT. So many of my favorite things are in this picture. To start, a lamp. I can't say enough how much I love a lamp. Or can I?? Anyway, I love that table in front of the window. I love our house. I love the pink vintage placemats on our kitchen table. And I especially love the rain. It's hard to tell, but it was raining pretty hard when I took this.

Here's something I've been doing lately that I really really love....

Afternoon tea! I don't always eat something with my tea, but we had banana nut bread, so I had a slice. Such a simple moment, but I loved it so much. And of course, I had to use the china!

So, if you haven't done anything lately that brings you joy, do that for yourself today!! Have a great Wednesday!

 Happy Friday, friends!! How was your week? One of my summer classes started this week, so I have been getting back into a bit of a routine which is nice! As always, I am linking up with Erika and Andrea to share some faves from the week.  How cute is our new wreath sash?? My mom got it for us, and I am obsessed! Lots of food faves this week.... Another salsa I am now obsessed with! I found this at Aldi, and y'all it is SO good! I used it in a recipe, but I am definitely going to get another jar to eat for a snack or with lunch or dinner! Now for a Tik Tok "recipe". I used quotations, because it's really just a chop/open a can and throw together situation. Corn, black beans, pinto beans, onion, tomato, cilantro. I ate it with tortilla chips for lunch this week. It was so good! Next time, I would add more tomato and use less onion (maybe even no onion at all), and I should have chopped up the cilantro a little better! I also squeezed in some lime juice and added salt a...

Friday Favorites {8.29.25}

 Happy last Friday of August! As always, I am here to link up with Erika and Andrea to share some faves from my week.  To be honest, it feels out of touch to make this post. After the devastating news of yet another school shooting, my heart is so heavy. Innocent lives taken and still no changes from people in power. I honestly do not know how anyone can see news like this and not be enraged and demanding for change. I do not get political on here, because that is not what I want for this space. However, I feel the need to share my thoughts about this. America needs gun control. ALL Americans need access to healthcare, especially when it comes to mental health. America needs change. Remember these things when you vote. Think about your babies, their friends, their teachers. Stay aware, stay educated. But also please make sure you spend time doing things that bring you joy (it's good for your mental health!). That is at least what I am going to do. With that being said, here ar...
