Monthly Musings {August 2024}

 Happy Thursday, friends! I'm here to link up with Holly and Patty for Monthly Musings!

Here are the questions for August!

1. Do you meal plan?

This depends on my mood for the week 😂. Sometimes yes, sometimes nope.

2. Back to school traditions.

When I was growing up, we always went out to eat the night before the first day of school. We also got new school clothes and shoes. I loved that so much!

3. Clothes and supplies shopping.

Well, since I don't have kids, I'll do this for my clothes and supplies. Y'all know I love Mimi Seabrook and Nordstrom for all my clothes!

As far as school supplies, I usually just get new flair pens from Walmart. I also love Tul notebooks and pens from Office Depot.

4. How I transition my wardrobe to fall.

Lots of basics!! Basic tees that can paired with shorts or jeans. Add a cardigan. BAM. My favorite outfit ever since 2016. Ha!

Short dresses that are long sleeved are also great to transition from end of summer to fall.

5. Anymore end of summer trips?

No more trips for us for this summer.

6. Do schools start before or after Labor Day?

The schools here (and when I was growing up) always start at the beginning of August.

7. Labor Day Weekend plans?

Put out the fall decor 😉.

8. White after Labor Day?

Yep. I threw all care out the window a few years ago and just wear white all year.

A sweater with white jeans is one of my favorite things to wear!

9. PSL asap or wait?

ASAP.

I had my first one this past Saturday 🙂.

10. Back to school tips.

I like to write down all of my assignments for the week and make sure to include due dates. I like to be able to cross things off of a list. It definitely helps me to stay organized!

Here's a look at my week this week!

Thanks for reading! Have a great day!

  2. I am a huge fan of lists and crossing things off; somehow my boys all manage to keep their schoolwork and due dates in their heads... I could never do that!

Friday Favorites {10.18.24}

 Happy Friday!! I hope you all had a great week! I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea today to share some faves from my week. Well guess what is back tonight?? NEW Hallmark Christmas movies!! Ummm YAY!! I'm most excited about Confessions of a Christmas Letter (Angela from The Office is starring in that one!) and Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story! For some foodie faves... This right here. It made my week. I'm obsessed with the tuna from Beagle Bagel. It's amazing. I can never say it enough! I made egg drop soup for the lunch the other day, and it was really good! It's always been my favorite soup from Chinese buffets. I didn't feel great and wanted a soup...luckily I had all the ingredients. I used this recipe here. The weather this week was absolute perfection.  I mean, it was really, really cool. And it was fabulous. So, that means.... I broke out a sweater and my Sorel booties that I love so much! I always forget how good the Bible app is. I opened it up...

Let's Look: September 2024

 Hey, friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today is the September edition of Let's Look. But before I get into that, I want to talk a bit about today, September 11. Today is the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. I was only one year old when this happened, so I obviously do not remember where I was or what I was doing or anything from this day. All I know is because of the people who continue to honor to victims and the heroes of this day. I have had the honor of visiting the memorial and museum in NYC twice now, and both times I have been were such an incredible experience. Visiting there is heavy. It is sad. It's informative. It's also beautiful to see how our country came together in such an awful time. I love this picture that I took on my last visit. The leaves in the picture are from a tree that survived everything from that day 23 years ago. It was transported to a greenhouse for a while, but it was eventually moved back, and I loved that I could...
