Monthly Musings {October 2024}

 Happy Halloween!! Today I am linking up with Patty and Holly for their October edition of Monthly Musings!

Let's get into all the Halloween fun!

1. The past two years, I have decorated for Christmas on Halloween. I have decided to wait until November 1 this year though. So, we don't have any plans for the night as of right now.

2. When I think of fall, I think of food. Ha! So, my favorite "traditions" are just cooking all of the yummy soups and baking all the things!

3. I really don't remember the last time I had either candy bar. I do love an Almond Joy, though! And Starbursts all the way!

4. If I could go trick or treating with my nieces and nephews, I definitely would! I don't know that I would want to host a party, but I would go to one!

5. I like handing out candy!

6. I think for the most part, everyone around here goes on the 31st, unless the weather is bad.

7. I don't go all out, but I do have pops of different Halloween decor mixed in with my fall stuff.

8. Eat way too much of it 😂.

9. I'm really not sure what the hours are. We don't live in an area with a lot of kids around.

10. We don't ever have anything specific, but I do like to have some kind of soup.

Have a great day!!

  1. I think of different meals when I think of fall traditions too- it's just what we do! :)

  2. I saw a mini Almond Joy at the gym this week and just had to have one; I love them and so rarely see/eat one!

 Happy Friday!! I hope you all had a great week! I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea today to share some faves from my week. Well guess what is back tonight?? NEW Hallmark Christmas movies!! Ummm YAY!! I'm most excited about Confessions of a Christmas Letter (Angela from The Office is starring in that one!) and Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story! For some foodie faves... This right here. It made my week. I'm obsessed with the tuna from Beagle Bagel. It's amazing. I can never say it enough! I made egg drop soup for the lunch the other day, and it was really good! It's always been my favorite soup from Chinese buffets. I didn't feel great and wanted a soup...luckily I had all the ingredients. I used this recipe here. The weather this week was absolute perfection.  I mean, it was really, really cool. And it was fabulous. So, that means.... I broke out a sweater and my Sorel booties that I love so much! I always forget how good the Bible app is. I opened it up...

Let's Look: September 2024

 Hey, friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today is the September edition of Let's Look. But before I get into that, I want to talk a bit about today, September 11. Today is the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. I was only one year old when this happened, so I obviously do not remember where I was or what I was doing or anything from this day. All I know is because of the people who continue to honor to victims and the heroes of this day. I have had the honor of visiting the memorial and museum in NYC twice now, and both times I have been were such an incredible experience. Visiting there is heavy. It is sad. It's informative. It's also beautiful to see how our country came together in such an awful time. I love this picture that I took on my last visit. The leaves in the picture are from a tree that survived everything from that day 23 years ago. It was transported to a greenhouse for a while, but it was eventually moved back, and I loved that I could...
