Monthly Musings {November 2024}

Happy Thursday!! I am linking up with Holly and Patty today for the November edition of Monthly Musings!

1. Any holiday parties on tap?

Caleb will have his work Christmas party sometime and we will do a Christmas Eve get together with both of our families, but other than that I don't think we have anything planned!

2. Best holiday prep advice?

I have a whole blog post here with holiday prep tips, but my biggest piece of advice is to be present and enjoy every little moment!!

3. Share a holiday appetizer recipe that is a crowd pleaser.

Oh goodness....so many!! I love to look at recipes on Shay's site, but one thing that is really always a hit is a block of cream cheese with pepper jelly on top and served with wheat thins!!

4. What holidays do you celebrate in November and December?

Thanksgiving in November and Christmas in December.

5. Favorite holiday beverage?

I love any cranberry flavored cocktail, but my go to is always going to be red wine!!

6. What part of holiday prep is a total struggle for you?

Letting go of stress 😆.

7. Go-to holiday outfit?

Cute sweater, leather leggings/skinny jeans, cute booties. Always cute!!

8. Do you send out holiday cards?

We sent out cards our first Christmas married, but we haven't done one since.

9. Black Friday shopper? Yes or heck no!

Ummmmm....we used to. But honestly it's not worth it to me anymore. I mean, stores already have Black Friday deals that have started this week.

10. Do you listen to holiday music before or after Thanksgiving?

BEFORE.

Have a great Thursday!

  1. Yes! Cream cheese and pepper jelly is a staple here. I can hardly take credit for it because a friend of ours makes so much pepper jelly we always have a huge store of it.

Happy Friday!! I hope you all had a great week! I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea today to share some faves from my week. Well guess what is back tonight?? NEW Hallmark Christmas movies!! Ummm YAY!! I'm most excited about Confessions of a Christmas Letter (Angela from The Office is starring in that one!) and Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story! For some foodie faves... This right here. It made my week. I'm obsessed with the tuna from Beagle Bagel. It's amazing. I can never say it enough! I made egg drop soup for the lunch the other day, and it was really good! It's always been my favorite soup from Chinese buffets. I didn't feel great and wanted a soup...luckily I had all the ingredients. I used this recipe here. The weather this week was absolute perfection.  I mean, it was really, really cool. And it was fabulous. So, that means.... I broke out a sweater and my Sorel booties that I love so much! I always forget how good the Bible app is. I opened it up...

Let's Look: September 2024

Hey, friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today is the September edition of Let's Look. But before I get into that, I want to talk a bit about today, September 11. Today is the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. I was only one year old when this happened, so I obviously do not remember where I was or what I was doing or anything from this day. All I know is because of the people who continue to honor to victims and the heroes of this day. I have had the honor of visiting the memorial and museum in NYC twice now, and both times I have been were such an incredible experience. Visiting there is heavy. It is sad. It's informative. It's also beautiful to see how our country came together in such an awful time. I love this picture that I took on my last visit. The leaves in the picture are from a tree that survived everything from that day 23 years ago. It was transported to a greenhouse for a while, but it was eventually moved back, and I loved that I could...
