Happy Wednesday, friends! It's time for the March edition of LET'S LOOK.
In January, we "looked" at THINGS WE OUTSOURCE WITHOUT REGRET.
In February, we "looked" at WAYS WE'VE TURNED INTO OUR PARENTS.
As for today, we are "looking" at....
FAVORITE FAMILY VACATIONS.
Oh how I love this topic. I love love love a vacay!
Let's take it all the way back to my childhood. My mom's entire family used to rent a big beach house for a week in Destin, Florida, and it was so much fun! Here are a few pics from those trips over the years....
Goodness, those were good times! A great portion of my childhood memories surround these trips and for that I am so grateful.
DISNEY!! Of course this is a fave! My parents took me when I was two, but I don't remember that. The first trip I remember is when my parents took Lib and I in 2009.
I remember riding Rockin' Roller Coaster and falling in love....makes me sad it's getting a new theme. We also happened to be there at the same time as our neighbors, so we met up with them throughout the week!
Disney again! This was a Christmas gift from my step dad's parents.
Only pic I could find from that trip haha.
Another Disney....
This time around it was me, mom, Libbey, and Mimi! That was a really fun one, too!
Oh, the selfie stick days!
Blue Ridge, Georgia.
And more selfie stick!! I'm pretty sure we were about a foot from taking that Suburban down the mountain....
I'm counting this one as a family vacay- NEW YORK CITY! My first time!
I'm now in love with the city and can't wait to get back.
The beach at Christmas....
I believe we stayed in Navarre, Florida, but drove over to Destin to shop for the day! And I actually think this was at Thanksgiving, but Christmas decor was all around.
30A! We sure like the beach!
I can't remember if this was the first or second trip to 30A, but we stayed at Seacrest both times and LOVED it. It's the perfect neighborhood for families, and my goodness the pool is amazing!
I'm counting this one, because it was with our "framily"! That time we drove to Louisiana for Christmas lights......
It really was so cool and worth the drive! Just a day trip, but I think it counts 😉.
Another beach trip...
Again with our "framily". Back in Navarre!! I remember loving that suit after I saw it on Megan (Honey We're Home), but now I am thinking dang that was scandalous 😂.
Big Canoe, Georgia. This is another great one for families! Such a cute little community with lots to do! Golf, boating, shopping, wineries, Mexican food eating....ya know, the essentials! Caleb and I also took a trip there by ourselves and loved it!
Our first post Covid vacay, at that! And mom's broken foot 😂. And I feel I should note that Reid is not mine and Caleb's child, even though this picture makes it look like that 😂.
Blue Ridge, part two!
This time with Reid man...look at that tiny angel! The whole fam was there, but I couldn't find a picture!
Reid's first trip to Disney!
This was a cheer trip turned mini family vacay, because we took Reid. And y'all, that was SO sweet to experience!!
Grayton Beach (30A).
This one was wild and crazy but so much fun!! That's what really makes it a family vacation, though, right??😉
Our latest and greatest-
Hot Springs! This was a lot fun, but mostly it was relaxing- and that was so needed!
Now, those are all of the vacations I have taken with my family. But I am blessed to have two families who love to vacay! So, here are the trips we've taken with Caleb's fam!
Vegas, baby! 2021 AND 2025!
Lots of fun both times! But, I *think* we're done with it for now. We'll see 😉.
The Christmas Cruise!
I was terrified to get on that ship, but oh my goodness it was SO FUN! I mean, that view right there made it all worth it! We did Nassau, Half Moon Cay, and Grand Turk- all SO beautiful! Funny little side story- we were on that infamous poop cruise ship- post incident of course (it had been cleaned and renamed by then)- but EW. Glad I didn't know that until we were off! I will also say, a tropical vacation in the dead of winter is, as they say, chef's kiss! Perfect little bit of warm weather to get you through!
I have blog posts on a few of these trips (plus other trips!) all right HERE.
I had to stop myself from posting every single vacation ever and every single picture from all of those vacations lol. Lots and lots of fun over the years! And I loved seeing how our family has changed and grown over the years- big changes, small changes, and all the things in between!
So, what's your favorite family vacation and where on earth should we go next???

I always say that they're all my favorites too! We have been on so many wonderful family vacations that it's hard to pick just one or two-- each have their own special memories associated with them. Of course there are some places we saw, ticked off the list, and never feel the need to go back and others that we enjoy visiting over and over again. Disney definitely tops our list! Hawaii was fabulous but gosh it was such a long plane ride. I'd still say it was worth it but I wouldn't be willing to go back for a long time.
ReplyDeleteYou have had some great vacations. How cool that you got to spend that time with all of your mom's family! Fab photos! New York City looks amazing too!
