Friday Favorite {6.30.23}

Happy last Friday of June, everybody!! How was your week? Mine went by suuuuper slow, but gosh how is June already almost over?!

It's Friday!! So, I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea to share some faves from the week!

Did you catch my JUNE BOOK REVIEW yesterday?? I loooved TWO of the three books I read. I'm already starting on my July reads, and so far I really love what I picked! I have several lined up for the months of July and August, and I'm really excited about them. If you have any recommendations for me, let me know!

Ohhhh my goodness! I made crab cakes earlier this week, and they were DELISH! I don't know why I've never thought about making them before, but dang they were so easy! PLUS, we ate on the fine china! That's a favorite for sure!

I'm really loving cooking lately. I've decided to make it a hobby that I love, rather than something I just have to do. I play some music, sometimes have a glass of wine, and just try not to stress about making it perfect. I'm also trying to make things outside of my comfort zone, and I've realized that a lot of recipes are not as hard as they seem.

Do you have "loaded teas" where you live?? They have been super popular in the south for several years, and I used to have a major addiction to them, but I don't drink them as much anymore. I get them every now and then as more of a treat, and I found a new flavor called Flip Flop- how cute and fun for summer! It's a strawberry and watermelon beauty tea, so it has collagen and biotin in it. So good! I may go grab one this morning before work!

Wednesday night, Caleb and I watched Grown Ups before bed. This is one of our favorite movies! We can watch it over and over. We always laugh hysterically! I love watching a movie in bed, all cozied up- this was definitely a favorite part of my week!

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday, and a great Fourth of July Weekend- I'm going to take Monday off from blogging, and I will be back here on Tuesday with a long weekend recap!

Let's Look: September 2024

 Hey, friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today is the September edition of Let's Look. But before I get into that, I want to talk a bit about today, September 11. Today is the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. I was only one year old when this happened, so I obviously do not remember where I was or what I was doing or anything from this day. All I know is because of the people who continue to honor to victims and the heroes of this day. I have had the honor of visiting the memorial and museum in NYC twice now, and both times I have been were such an incredible experience. Visiting there is heavy. It is sad. It's informative. It's also beautiful to see how our country came together in such an awful time. I love this picture that I took on my last visit. The leaves in the picture are from a tree that survived everything from that day 23 years ago. It was transported to a greenhouse for a while, but it was eventually moved back, and I loved that I could...
