What's Up Wednesday {May 2023}

Happy happy Wednesday, friends! Here we are at the end of another month, so I'm linking up with Sheaffer and Shay for What's Up Wednesday!

1: WHAT WE'RE EATING THIS WEEK:

Monday night we had breakfast for dinner!

Last night we had smoked tuna dip, steamed shrimp, and crab cakes.

Tonight we're having snack foods. Sausage balls, pigs in a blanket, rotel dip with sausage...

Thursday is "Hamburger Helper w/o the Helper."

Friday we're having tacos!

2: WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT:

Ohhhh just June of last year! Caleb and I are coming up on one year of being married on the fourth! I'm definitely reminiscing about that day, as well as our honeymoon in Playa Mujeres!

3: WHAT I'M LOVING:

Hands down our new patio furniture! I've been eyeing this set for a few months, and we decided it would be our anniversary gift to each other. We also got a fire pit, which probably won't get much use until the fall, but it'll be so nice then!

4: WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO:

Really not a whole lot....sitting on our porch in our new furniture!

5: WHAT I'M DREADING:

Cleaning up after dinner😂.

6: WHAT I'M WORKING ON:

I've been making freezer jam lately! I'm trying to decide what fruits I'll use next. I've done strawberry and blackberry-peach so far!

7: WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT:

Hmmmm...I'm actually really excited about the new documentary on the Duggar family. It comes out on the 2nd, and I can't wait for the drama that will unfold😂.

8: WHAT I'M WATCHING/READING:

I posted my May book review yesterday! I've already gotten a jump start on my June reading, and so far it's going VERY well.

I also posted last week what I've been watching lately. I finished both Candy and Love & Death, and I loved them both!

9: WHAT I'M LISTENING TO:

Just like the past couple of months...I'm still stuck on Taylor Swift! I'm also of course listening to Podcasts like The Bestie Breakdown, The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast. Chick and Dip, and Office Ladies!

10: WHAT I'M WEARING:

Dresses, dresses, and more dresses!

11: WHAT I'M DOING THIS WEEKEND:

Sunday is our anniversary, so we'll be going to dinner- probably to our favorite Italian restaurant in Starkville!

12: WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

We really don't have anything going on next month, other than our anniversary!

13: FAVORITE AMAZON PURCHASE THIS MONTH:

This cookbook!

How was your May? Have a great Wednesday!

Friday Favorites {10.18.24}

 Happy Friday!! I hope you all had a great week! I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea today to share some faves from my week. Well guess what is back tonight?? NEW Hallmark Christmas movies!! Ummm YAY!! I'm most excited about Confessions of a Christmas Letter (Angela from The Office is starring in that one!) and Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story! For some foodie faves... This right here. It made my week. I'm obsessed with the tuna from Beagle Bagel. It's amazing. I can never say it enough! I made egg drop soup for the lunch the other day, and it was really good! It's always been my favorite soup from Chinese buffets. I didn't feel great and wanted a soup...luckily I had all the ingredients. I used this recipe here. The weather this week was absolute perfection.  I mean, it was really, really cool. And it was fabulous. So, that means.... I broke out a sweater and my Sorel booties that I love so much! I always forget how good the Bible app is. I opened it up...

Let's Look: September 2024

 Hey, friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today is the September edition of Let's Look. But before I get into that, I want to talk a bit about today, September 11. Today is the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. I was only one year old when this happened, so I obviously do not remember where I was or what I was doing or anything from this day. All I know is because of the people who continue to honor to victims and the heroes of this day. I have had the honor of visiting the memorial and museum in NYC twice now, and both times I have been were such an incredible experience. Visiting there is heavy. It is sad. It's informative. It's also beautiful to see how our country came together in such an awful time. I love this picture that I took on my last visit. The leaves in the picture are from a tree that survived everything from that day 23 years ago. It was transported to a greenhouse for a while, but it was eventually moved back, and I loved that I could...
