Friday Favorites {6.28.24}

 Happy Friday, friends! I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika today to share some faves for the week. Since I'll be on vacation next week, I'll see you all back here on Monday, July 8! I made another cobbler! This time I used both blueberries and blackberries that my nieces and nephews picked! It was soooo good! I think I like the berries better than peaches! I used this recipe! These chips from Aldi are so good! I ate them by themselves, ate them with egg salad, dipped them in french onion dip....all so good! I had to document this! I try to get in as many steps as possible each day, and I finally hit 10,000 on Tuesday! I loved my bracelet stack on Wednesday! Most of them are Gresham, but this is the one on top. Wednesday night, I was typing up a blog post while it was raining. I know I've said it before, but I. love. the. rain.!! Have a great weekend and a great Fourth of July holiday!

Also anything Kenny Chesney- that just feels like my childhood! And of course I can't not mention something Taylor....anything from Lover or 1

What's Up Wednesday {June 2024}

 Happy Wednesday!! I feel like I have said it every month, but dang June went by so quickly!! I'm linking up with Sheaffer and Shay to give you a look back at our month.....   1: WHAT WE'RE EATING THIS WEEK Monday night we ate breakfast. At the time I'm typing this we have not had our Tuesday dinner. Soooo....we'll see šŸ˜‚. It's the week before vacation... #noplans 2: WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT The days when I didn't have a construction crew next door. I mean, they're not ruining my life or anything but I'm not excited about these two houses being built. I need to get a better attitude about this šŸ˜‚. 3: WHAT I'M LOVING This cup and iced coffee. My cup is from Homegoods! And these! OMG so good!! 4: WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO Just before I started typing this post, I finished my last bit of school work for my June class!! 5: WHAT I'M DREADING Post beach laundry. Ugh. Kitchen Chat: Napkin Edition

 Happy Tuesday! I'm here with another installment of my Kitchen Chat series! Today, let's talk all about my napkin obsession! I love cute paper napkins. I love reusable napkins. I love napkins that no one is allowed to touch or actually use, but we will used them in a tablescape šŸ˜‰. Here are my reusable napkins. Some of these are from Homegoods and some are from The Finery in Jackson. I have learned that it's best to wash and hang to dry, then steam or iron them! These are some of the ones that are not allowed to be touched šŸ˜‚. My grandmother got this set of placemats and napkins from an estate sale a while back. We take from this collection every night! I get all of these at Homegoods or Marshalls, or my mom and MIL give me some from time to time. Every now and then I'll find a pack of cute ones at something like a boutique or home decor store. And while we're on the topic of napkins, here's our guest bathroom situation. See? Obsessed šŸ˜‚. Sometimes I'll spl

Hello Monday {6.24.24}

 Happy Monday!! I'm actually typing this post on Monday morning, instead of Sunday evening. Not gonna lie, I was in bed at 6:30 last night šŸ˜‚. I decided the blog could wait, so here ya go! I'm linking up with Holly and Sarah! My Friday morning view! I love carnations! My Kroger had peonies several times last year, but I haven't found any this year. So, carnations it is! Lighting a candle early in the morning is one of y very favorite things to do! Friday night, we met my mom and stepdad for dinner so we could see Reid for a little bit. Well.....we watched him sleep the whole time šŸ˜‚. He'd had a busy day of picking blueberries and playing on the waterslide. I can't say I blame him- ha! Saturday lunch with Caleb's fam. Greek is one of my favorites!! Yummmmm. We met up again to try and actually see Reid, and we got sno cones! It was so dang hot! Luckily he was wide awake and in a good mood! Then Caleb and I headed to a wedding reception for some friends who eloped

Friday Favorites {6.21.24}

 Happy Friday!! As always, I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika to share some faves from my week! My absolute number one fave of the week is this peach cobbler. It was soooo good!! I used this recipe from Tastes Better from Scratch. I used this in the peach cobbler, and I have also been drinking it in my coffee! I don't know if this made the peach cobbler better than regular milk would have, but I will definitely be using this again next time I make it. I also used fresh peaches instead of canned. This was our dinner Tuesday night. I really like it best with sweet pickles, but all we had were dill. Still so good and a quick and easy dinner, appetizer, lunch, whatever! Well this was funny šŸ˜‚. I never feel like I listen to certain songs as much as I do, until I actually see the evidence.....I guess Spotify thinks I need to listen to something else- ha! In case you missed it, I posted a book review yesterday! I really loved this one! Also, I think I like reviewing books one at a

Book Review: It Starts With Us

 Happy Thursday! I'm back with another BOOK REVIEW!! A month ago, I reviewed It Ends With Us.  Today, I'm here to review It Starts With Us! Another Colleen Hoover win for me! I've read a lot of reviews on this book after reading it, and most people say they didn't like it. But I loved it! I was hooked from the first chapter until the very last word!! I think I was mostly happy to read about Lily being happy. It Ends With Us was so heavy, and though this one had a few moments of heaviness, it was mostly happy and light. I have to admit, I feel like the ending was a bit rushed and could have used maybe one more chapter from Lily's perspective. I was expecting both books to be wildly inappropriate (remember Verity???), but *those* scenes were not bad in my opinion. All in all, I loved this book! I'm wondering now if eventually this one will become a movie. I thought I was done with Colleen Hoover, but I think I may read some more of her books soon! If you want to r

What I Wore Wednesday

 It's been way too long since I've done a What I Wore Wednesday!! Here's what I've been wearing on these very warm June days! I love love love a sundress! This one is from Mimi Seabrook a couple years ago, but they always have such cute ones! Another thing I love....a tennis dress! This one is from Target.  I would recommend sizing up one. I'm obsessed with this dress from SHEIN! It's a super similar silhouette to the Farm Rio dress later in this post. Obviously it's not the same quality, but it's still really good! I forgot to get a mirror picture of this dress, but it's another Mimi Seabrook find. I'm telling y'all, they have the best dresses! Every now and then I get in a shorts mood, but it's pretty rare. My top here is from Old Navy and the shorts are Target. Here's the Farm Rio dress I mentioned earlier. It's from last year, so the pattern is no longer around, but they still have this silhouette. This one is on sale! Anothe

Easy Red Beans and Rice

 Happy Tuesday! I feel like I've shared about this recipe before, but it doesn't have it's own blog post. So, here ya go! My mom started making red beans and rice like this a few years ago, and now this is how I do it. It's super easy and super quick! Ingredients: 1 can of Blue Runner red beans (I actually like the white beans better, but it's rare that I find them!) 1 package of your favorite sausage, cut into rounds (I've been using a jalapeƱo cheddar deer sausage lately) White rice for serving Directions: 1. Heat your sausage in a skillet until browned.  2. Mix in your can of Blue Runner beans. Sometimes I add a little water but not always. Let it simmer on medium heat for about five minutes. I also add in a little salt, pepper, and garlic powder. 3. Serve over your cooked rice. See how easy?? And dang it's so good!!
