HOW WE UNWIND DURING THE HOLIDAYS.
Well, I sure love this topic! I am all about mental health, taking care of yourself first (remember...you can't pour from an empty cup!), and doing things that just make you happier and calmer- especially during the holidays. This time of year can bring on so many emotions, so I think it is extra important to take care of ourselves as much as possible. So, here are some ways I like to unwind....
Early shower, Christmas pjs, watch a movie or TV show in bed.
I truly do no think it can get much better than this! I so love getting in bed early, especially after a particularly long and stressful day. Now that I'm done with school for this semester, I'm thankfully not so stressed. But, this will still be a nice way to unwind on a chilly night.
Make your favorite soup or comfort meal.
I have learned this year that I am obsessed with SOUP. Especially lasagna soup and buffalo ranch chicken tortilla soup. I could rotate those every other night and be happy as a clam! Having a warm bowl of deliciousness just makes me feel extra cozy.
At home facial.
I love to do an at home facial or get a little extra with my skincare! This helps me to relax and get my mind ready for bed. Plus, my skin loves it! I especially loved a rose water spray this time of year- my skin has been super dry lately.
Take something to help you sleep.
Taking something to make me extra sleepy and STAY asleep is sometimes just needed. I struggle to shut my mind off at night sometimes, so taking something helps. I like this Sleep Now from Herbalife.
Spend time with family.
I know a lot of us are probably spending a lot of extra time with family around the holidays, but just going to an impromptu dinner or spending some "bonus" time with family is really nice.
Afternoon tea or coffee.
I love to have a hot cup of tea or coffee towards the afternoon, just a little pick me up!
Happy Holidays, everyone!
